China Real Estate People in the News 2014-12-08

2014/12/08 by Michael Cole Leave a Comment

As the Christmas holiday approaches it appears that, at least for a few of China’s real estate professionals, the new year will bring a little extra cheer, thanks to new jobs and promotions. This week we have a new head of outbound real estate investment at one of China’s biggest overseas spenders, an agency veteran changing cities and companies, and more. Read on for details.

Ping Gong FosunPing (Alex) Gong has been promoted to Executive President for Overseas Business and Equity Investment at Fosun Property Holdings based in Shanghai. Gong’s new position with the real estate wing of the Chinese investment conglomerate behind the $725 million purchase of One Chase Manhattan Plaza comes after the Fudan University graduate and Standard Chartered veteran has spent more than three years with Fosun.

Hans Zhou DTZHans Zhou has joined DTZ as General Manager for the real estate services company’s Tianjin office. Zhou will be looking after business lines that include Valuation, Office, Retail, Property Management, and Consulting, as well as having overall profit-and-loss responsibility in the port city. The Beijing University graduate takes on his new role after spending the last four years running CBRE’s Shenyang office. After expanding to 12 offices across China, CBRE has been struggling with profitability, particularly in its second-tier city locations.

Paul Fisher DTZPaul Fisher has been promoted to Director and Head of Corporate Tenant Representation at DTZ in Hong Kong. Fisher now has spent nearly nine years with the newly independent real estate services firm where he specialises in lease negotiation and advising tenants on workplace strategies in the Hong Kong commercial real estate market. Fisher graduated from the University of Salford in Manchester, England and first joined DTZ in 2005.

Ken Xie Lend LeaseKen Xie has joined Lend Lease as a Development Manager with the Australian real estate developer. Continuing to be based in Shanghai, Xie jumped into his new position after spending just under four years with Kerry Properties as a Project Development Manager. The graduate of Shanghai’s Fudan University also spent more than three years with JLL, and holds a master’s degree from the University of Durham in the UK.

As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the community here at Mingtiandi.
