CBRE has appointed long-time Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley executive Eiji Sakaguchi as its new Chief Executive Officer for Japan.
Sakaguchi, who previously served as head of the real estate group for the joint venture financial firm in Japan will start work with the real estate agency on October 3rd, according to a corporate announcement. Ben Duncan, CBRE’s president for North Asia formerly served as President and CEO of CBRE Japan and had retained those roles when he stepped up to the regional level position in 2014.
CBRE is expecting that Sakaguchi, who has more than 27 years of experience in Japan’s real estate industry will help the company to further develop its Japan operation as it focuses on serving domestic Japanese investors and tenants.
In addition to his time at Morgan Stanley, Sakaguchi spent 11 years with Mitsui Fudosan, where he held various positions in asset and property management, leasing, investment, and development activity.
