Benoy Appoints Darren Cartlidge as Regional Operations Director

Global design firm Benoy announced today that it has appointed Darren Cartlidge as its Regional Operations Director based in Hong Kong, giving the 20 year industry veteran responsibility for projects in China, Southeast Asia and the other Australasia for the UK-based group.

“We are excited to welcome Darren to our leadership team in Asia. Darren is a well-respected member of the industry and brings with him significant management experience in Hong Kong, China and the UK. As we continue to innovate as a business, Darren will help us to drive and strengthen our offer and bolster our service excellence to clients across the Asia-Pacific market,” said Trevor Vivian, Global Director at Benoy.

Cartlidge, who misses out by just one letter from being related to Benoy chairman Graham Cartledge or CEO Tom Cartledge, comes to Benoy and his newly created role from Atkins, where he had spent nearly five years in the rival design firm’s Hong Kong office, serving most recently as Operations Director.

Benoy, which has been responsible for iconic projects such as Singapore’s ION and Hong Kong’s Elements mall has also created the master plan for the Qiantan area in Shanghai’s Pudong district. With Asia accounting for a growing portion of Benoy’s work, the firm will be keen to leverage Cartlidge’s experience delivering tall buildings and large-scale developments, including the Kowloon Station Development in Hong Kong, Loncin Tower in Chongqing, Vincom Landmark 81 in Ho Chi Minh City and the Home Office and Regents Place in London.

In addition to his work with Atkins, Cartlidge also has experience with TFP Farrells and
BDG McColl Architects & Interior Designers.
