Data centres lead Mingtiandi’s review of personnel moves around Asia Pacific again this week with a PAG-backed digital infrastructure player naming a new CTO. Also making our list this week is a senior level promotion within Shenzhen’s Kaisa Group and a new CEO is on the way for Hong Kong-listed Spring REIT.

Ken Marron FLOWFlow Digital Infrastructure announced on 6 October that it was appointing Ken Marron as chief technology officer with immediate effect. Based in Tokyo, Marron joins the PAG portfolio firm after just less than two years with CapitaLand Japan where he had served as general manager for data centres. With three decades of experience in project management, Marron has also previously held leadership roles with NextDC and Lend Lease.

Liu Lihao KaisaKaisa Prosperity Holdings notified the Hong Kong stock exchange on 9 October that it has promoted  executive director Liu Lihao to the role of vice chairman after just three months on the company’s board. Having taken effect immediately, Liu’s appointment is a step up from the 42-year-old’s current job as chief operating officer with the property management unit of Kaisa Group. Having first joined the Shenzhen developer in 2012, Liu was named to an executive director role on the board on 10 July.

LEUNG Kwok Hoe, Kevin Spring REITThe manager of Hong Kong-listed Spring Real Estate Investment Trust said on 10 October that Kevin Leung Kwok Hoe (pictured) has notified the board of his intention to retire from his role as chief executive officer with effect from 31 October. With Leung leaving the REIT after five years as CEO, the manager is promoting Michael Chung Wai Fai, currently chief financial officer and an executive director of the REIT, to the top executive role, with that change also taking effect from 31 October.

Huang Zhibin MingfaMingfa Group International announced to the Hong Kong stock exchange on 9 October that it has appointed Huang Zhibin (pictured) and Chen Bihua as executive directors on its board with effect from that day. Now 32, Huang was made general manager of the mainland developer’s Fujian business in 2018. Chen Bihua is the widow of late Mingfa founder Wong Wun Ming and is the aunt of Huang Zhibin. Huang Qingzhou, Huang Zhibin’s father, formerly served as CEO of Mingfa Group and was censured by the Hong Kong exchange in 2022 while continuing to hold 15 percent of the Hong Kong-listed company.

Jek Aun Long Greenberg TraurigGreenberg Traurig announced on 8 October that it has added six attorneys to its Singapore office, after first setting up the business in 2022. The new recruits are led by Jek Aun Long (pictured) who formerly led the Asia investment funds practice at Simmons and Simmons, with his former colleagues Benedict Tan, Joshua Heng and Melvin Ng also joining Greenberg’s growing practice. Greenberg Traurig also welcomed attorneys from Ashurst and White & Case to its Singapore team.

Andrew Macgeoch Bird&BirdAndrew MacGeoch, formerly head of Asia real estate and infrastructure at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, has moved from Hong Kong to Singapore to join rival firm Bird and Bird, according to a LinkedIn update. MacGeoch, who had spent more than eight years at BCLP, migrated to the new firm alongside former colleagues Leanne Sim, who joins Bird & Bird as counsel, and Sharonrose Tan, who has been given a senior associate role.
