Asia Real Estate People in the News 2018-11-19

With just over one month to go in 2018 a few industry professionals are taking their year-end holidays a bit early as a pair of high ranking executives with mainland developers announce plans to take time off from their current gigs. Not everyone in the industry is taking heading for the door, however, as a Shanghai office leasing veteran finds a new role with top Hong Kong developer and a leading property brokerage adds to their project management team in Hong Kong. Read on for all the details on who landed a new role or took an early graduation this week.

Kong Peng CIFIKong Peng, Vice President of CIFI Holdings and Managing Director of the developer’s Beijing regional office has resigned for personal reasons, according to an announcement by the company last week. Kong will remain with CIFI until December 31st and the Shanghai-based firm has already announced that Dong Yi, currently Deputy General Manager of its investment division, has been appointed as Deputy General Manager of its Beijing office, after first joining the company in early 2017.

zhang haimin junfaZhang Haimin has resigned from his position as President of Junfa Group, according to an announcement by the Kunming-based developer on November 14th. Zhang is said to have resigned to spend more time with his family after having relocated to Kunming late last year after having previously served as President of Beijing-based builder Sunshine City Group. Prior to joining Sunshine City, Zhang had spent a decade at China Vanke and also had experience at Raycom Real Estate Development (a subsidiary of Legend Holdings), Shanghai Xingyue Investment Group, and Zhejiang-based developer Coastal Greenland.

cruise chen k11Cruise Chen has joined K11 Concepts in Shanghai as an Assistant General Manager with the division of Hong Kong’s New World Development. Chen takes on his new role with the commercial developer after a stint at Shanghai KWG Property Development Limited where he served as Regional Leasing Director for Eastern China and Beijing With the developer. The graduate of the Nanjing Army Command College also has previous experience with Hang Lung Properties and CBRE.

wayne hallas colliersWayne Hallas has signed up with Colliers International in Hong Kong as a Senior Director with the company’s Project Management division. Hallas made his debut with the Toronto-based real estate services firm last month after nearly four and a half years with Lai Si Construction and Engineering, where he served most recently as Deputy Managing Director. The graduate of the Leeds College of Building also has prior experience with Structure Tone and The Disney Store.

todd huang colliersTodd Huang has joined Colliers International in Shanghai as a Senior Manager with the Capital Markets and Investment Services for East China. Huang will now be handling investment transactions for the property consultancy’s clients in the Shanghai and surrounding region after spending two and a half years with CBRE in Beijing, where he served most recently as an Assistant Manager with the Advisory and Transaction division’s office leasing team.

hannah murray uliHannah Murray has joined the Urban Land Institute in Hong Kong as a Manager with the industry organisation’s Marketing and Membership team for the Asia Pacific region. Murray climbs aboard at the real estate non-profit after just over three years with the commercial business development team for China and APAC at global design firm Benoy. The graduate of the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London also has previous experience with the China-Britain Business Council.
