Melvin Yeo Woon (楊文) is stepping down as Senior Director of Sales and Marketing at New World Development, after working at the Hong Kong developer for seven years, according to a local media account. The executive has 25 years of real estate experience in the city, after moving to Hong Kong from Singapore to join Sino Land in 1992. Yeo has been responsible for promoting and selling nearly 30 projects during his time at New World, generating sales of over HK$86 billion ($11 billion) for apartment projects including The Austin in Southwest Kowloon and The Pavilia Bay in Tsuen Wan.
Steven Ming has founded Sakal Real Estate Partners, a boutique investment and advisory house in Singapore. The team consists of partners with capital markets and agency experience, as well as specialists in urban planning, development and value creation, with Ming serving as Managing Director. Ming previously worked at property consultancy Savills Singapore since 2004, most recently holding the role of Senior Consultant after spending over four and a half years as Managing Director & Head of Investment & Residential Services.
Peter Dooley has joined luxury resort operator Soneva in the Maldives as Managing Director of Projects and Engineering. Before moving to the South Asian island nation, Dooley held the role of Construction Director at entertainment company MGM, based in Macau, where he worked on the $3.4 billion MGM COTAI resort. The 35-year construction industry veteran has led projects for Mace in Ho Chi Minh City, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, and Scansa in Poland, as well as once upon a time working in a place called Hanoi.
Alex Liu has been promoted to Director – Project & Programme Management at global design and consulting firm Arcadis, based in Shanghai. He took on the title of Associate Director and Head of the Fit-Out and Project Management Team last December, after serving as an Associate Partner with Arcadis/EC Harris from mid-2016. Arcadis has rebranded its offices following its 2011 acquisition of project management firm EC Harris.
Ivy Jiahui Chen has joined Chinese co-working startup Kr Space as Talent Acquisition Manager this month, based in Shanghai, after working for rival naked Hub. Beijing-based Kr Space is a spinoff of Alibaba-backed technology platform 36Kr, with a network of dozens of shared office centres across China. Starting in 2016, Chen held the roles of Talent Acquisition Specialist and then Assistant Talent Acquisition Manager at naked, which was acquired by US co-working giant WeWork last month.
Natalie Tsui has been promoted to Senior Director, Head of Marketing & Communications, Greater China at Knight Frank, based in Hong Kong. She previously held the title of Director for over three years at the property consultancy. Tsui first joined Knight Frank as a marketing manager in 2013 after working at Swire Properties, having started her career at Midas Design Associates.
