Asia Real Estate People in the News 2018-04-23

Leading today’s roundup of people news, a retail specialist has rejoined CapitaLand’s mall development arm in Shanghai after a stint at Pradera Retail Asia, and a senior housing pro is jumping from one Chinese insurance behemoth to another. The flexible workspace sector is seeing a flurry of job changes as The Executive Centre welcomes new marketing talent in Shenzhen and a Hong Kong co-working centre adds to its team. A couple of agency professionals are changing their business cards, too, and all the details are below.

Ami Zhang has joined China Life Insurance as Deputy General Manager, based in the eastern Chinese city of Suzhou. Prior to taking the new role, he worked in Shanghai as Deputy General Manager Operations for Taiping Senior Living Management, the senior housing investment and asset management arm of China Taiping Insurance Group. Zhang’s varied career in real estate has also included stints at senior housing firm Merrill Gardens, where he was a project general manager, as well as TP Investment HK, Shama Luxe Huashan, Shui On Land, and Hyatt Regency.

jenny ganJenny Gan has returned to the China division of retail developer CapitaLand Mall Asia as Senior Manager, based in Shanghai. The company, a subsidiary of Singaporean property giant CapitaLand, has a portfolio of over 100 shopping malls across Asia. Prior to taking the new role, Gan worked for joint venture asset manager Pradera Retail Asia as Senior Marketing Manager, in which she role she executed marketing strategy for the London-based retail specialist. Gan previously worked as Marketing Communications Manager with CapitaLand Mall Asia — then called CapitaMalls Asia — for more than four years in China. Her more than 15-year career in commercial real estate has also included roles at Savills and Shanghai Pacific Department Store Co.

Jane Wang has joined serviced office provider The Executive Centre as a Business Development Manager in Shanghai, moving on from the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, where she had worked since mid-2012. Wang studied at East China Normal University and the University of Central Arkansas before taking on a series of corporate marketing and communications roles, starting with events services company MMI (Shanghai).

Lilly LiuLilly Liu has taken the reins as City Head – Shenzhen at The Executive Centre after working as Head of Business Development at the serviced office brand. Liu previously served as General Sales Manager for Chinese real estate developer Gemdale Properties and Investment, after an initial stint at The Executive Centre. She first joined the Hong Kong-based firm in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen as a Business Development Executive in 2013.

Kelvin SuenKelvin Suen joins arco city co-working business center in Wan Chai, Hong Kong this month from rival flexible office operator Campfire Collaborative Spaces. He holds the title of Sales Manager at the serviced office hub in the East Town Building at 41 Lockhart Road. Prior to his stint as an assistant sales manager at fast-growing Campfire, Suen worked for a series of events services firms including Eurovet, Smart Expos, and Kenfair Exhibition.

Donny Tse has been promoted to Associate Director at Colliers International, based in Hong Kong, stepping up from the role of Senior Manager – Corporate Solutions which he has held for nearly three years. Tse serves as the single point of contact for corporate accounts globally and regionally, helping with investment and leasing transactions and market research, while also identifying and securing new clients. He first joined the international property brokerage in 2011, after working as an operations manager at Hong Kong’s Sunmate Development.

Kirsty WongKirsty Wong has been promoted to Retail Manager at commercial real estate consultancy CBRE, based in Hong Kong, after working as a Retail Analyst since mid-2016. Wong’s past experience includes roles as a compliance officer at financial services giant HSBC and a manager at education group Britannia StudyLink. She received a master’s degree in project management from the UK’s University of Warwick.
