Asia Real Estate People in the News 2017-08-14

Leading off this week’s list of real estate professionals finding something new to do is a former private equity ace who decided to join the public sector after more than a decade buying and selling buildings. Also on the move is a veteran broker who takes a step up in Shenzhen and an architect who’s found a new home in Shanghai. Read on for all the details on who got the gig you always wanted.

danielle lauAfter more than eleven years in the private equity real estate world. Danielle Lau has joined the Hong Kong Monetary Authority as a Senior Manager. Lau takes on her new role with Hong Kong’s de facto central bank after nearly a decade with Aetos Capital Real Estate, where she served most recently as a Director. The graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business also has previous experience with Morgan Stanley.

ken kanKen Kan has been promoted to Managing Director with CBRE in Shenzhen. Kan took his step up with the real estate agency last month, after serving less than a year as an Executive Director with the company, where he served as Head of Advisory and Transaction Services for office clients in southern China. The graduate of Australia’s Macquarie University also has previous experience with Colliers in Shenzhen and Shanghai, as well as with Landvision Property in Hong Kong.

matthew miaoMatthew Miao has joined Zhong Yin Real Estate(中垠地产)as a Senior Investment Manager based in Shanghai. Miao has signed up with the real estate development subsidiary of state-owned conglomerate Yankuang Group after less than a year at competitor Future Holdings, where he served as an Investment Manager. Miao also has more than two years experience with Cushman & Wakefield in Shanghai, where the trained valuer worked in financial advisory.

Sunny HungSunny (Tzu Ching) Hung has been promoted to Manager with the Investment Advisory Services team at CBRE in Beijing. This latest promotion comes just seven months after Hung joined CBRE where she had previously served as an Assistant Manager with the Investment Advisory Services division. The graduate of London’s Cass Business School also has experience with local mainland agency Lianjia, as well as with Savills.

ruben sanchezRuben Arrieta Sanchez has joined Retail Link China as a Senior Architect, based in Shanghai. Sanchez comes to the integrated design shop from competitor HWCD, where he had served for more than two years, most recently as an Architect Designer. The graduate of Spain’s University of Seville and the school of Architecture at the University of Thessaly in Greece also has previous experience at Modulo Concept International and Studio ADD in Seville.

jon smithJon Smith has joined the Office Services team at Colliers International in Guangzhou, where he now serves as a Manager in the capital of southern China’s Guangdong province. The football enthusiast takes on his new role after nearly three and a half years with the real estate service provider’s property management division in the same city, where he served most recently as a Property Manager.
