Asia Real Estate People in the News 2017-06-05

2017/06/05 by Michael Cole Leave a Comment

Asia’s community of real estate professionals heads into June with a US-based shared economy unicorn finding a China chief after a long search, and a Hong Kong-listed developer finding its new boss in the usual place where family run companies find them. And we even found someone who used to work in Addis Ababa. Read on for all the details on who has a new namecard.

hong geAirbnb has named Hong Ge as Vice-President and head of China operations for the hospitality unicorn. Ge will report directly to Airbnb Chief Executive Officer Brian Chesky as the shared hostelry platform seeks to ramp up its mainland operations after formally launching in China last year. Ge is based in Beijing, and has been with Airbnb before taking on this new role this month. The graduate of Tsinghua and Yale Universities also has previous experience at Facebook and Google.

SEA Holdings has named Executive Director Lambert Lu as the Hong Kong-listed developer’s new chief executive, according to an announcement to the stock exchange. Lambert Lu is the son of company chairman Lu Wing Chi, and the younger brother of Lincoln Lu, who serves as a non-executive Director on the board. The graduate of the University of British Columbia also serves as a member of the Henan Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.

duoying hanDuoying Han has joined Financial Street Holdings in Shanghai as an Officer with the Shenzhen-listed developer. Han joins the Beijing-based firm after spending more than six years with Hong Kong’s Sun Hung Kai Properties, where he was employed most recently as an Assistant Officer with the developer’s IFC commercial project in Shanghai’s Lujiazui area. The Donghua University graduate also has experience with CRIC and CCFEI.

kathy k liKathy K Li has joined Dongzheng Enterprise Property Holdings (Australia) as an Executive Assistant to the CEO of the Aussie subsidiary of the mainland developer, based in Sydney. Li took on her new role with Dongzheng after previously serving as Sales Training Coordinator with The Property Investors Alliance in Sydney for eight months. The graduate of Manchester and Cardiff Universities in the UK also has previous experience with the former DTZ (now Cushman & Wakefield) in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Nanning.

lily luLily Lu has signed up with Shanghai-based property management firm Yopark as a Customer Service Manager based in the Chinese commercial hub. Lu joins the ten-year-old firm after spending over a year as a Leasing Consultant with Reachhome Realty Shanghai. The graduate of Nantong University in Jiangsu province also has experience as an Accountant with the Eastern Industry Zone of Ethiopia in Addis Ababa.

As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the community here at Mingtiandi.
