Asia Real Estate People In The News 2016-11-07

2016/11/07 by Cheyenne Hollis Leave a Comment

November is here and so too is another edition of Asia real estate people in the news. Troubled developer Kaisa Group Holdings is back in among the headlines after an Executive Director decided to step down. There are also comings and goings at CBRE where the Executive Director of its Capital Advisors team decided it was time to move on while the Hong Kong office found itself a new Senior Estate Manager. Scroll down for all of the news this week.

Lei Fugui has stepped down from his position of Executive Director at Kaisa Group Holdings. The move ends a turbulent two-year spell for Lei at the developer. The Hong Kong-listed firm defaulted on its US dollar-denominated bonds in 2015 and eventually filed for bankruptcy in the US. The default led to the offshore market for Chinese developer bonds halting entirely in 2015. Kaisa had its debt restructuring plan formally approved by bondholders earlier this year.

nick-crockett-2Nick Crockett has left CBRE’s Singapore office, stepping down from his position as Executive Director for CBRE Capital Advisors in Asia Pacific, PERE News reported. Crockett spent nearly four years with CBRE helping the firm expand its capital market advisory services in the region. During his time with CBRE he advised clients on equity and debt transactions worth more that $4 billion across Asia-Pacific, Europe and US.

kenneth-tsang-2Kenneth Tsang is heading to JP Morgan Asset Management where he will be assuming the role of head of Research and Strategy for Real Estate, Global Real Assets in Asia-Pacific. Based in Hong Kong, the University of Melbourne graduate will be focusing on the firm’s real assets allocations in the region. Prior to joining JP Morgan Asset Management, Tsang was Managing Director at RED Capital, a private real estate investment management firm.

wayne-huang-2Wayne Huang swapped Colliers International blue for JLL red after joining the latter’s Shanghai office as Senior Manager, Capital Markets. He had been working at Colliers as Senior Manager, Investment Services before switching teams. Huang worked on a number of key deals during his five year stint with the blue brand, including the leasing of ZiZhu Digital Hub and securing lease renewals for Singapore Airlines and Sony in Shanghai.

tse-hannah-2Hannh Tse has been hired by CBRE to serve as a Senior Estate Manager in the firm’s Hong Kong office. She links up with CBRE from rival Knight Frank where she spent the past three years, most recently working as a Senior Portfolio Manager. The University of Hong Kong alum started her career at JLL where she honed her craft for more than six years working in various roles eventually climbing the ladder to Assistant Portfolio Leasing Manager.

lily yao-2Lily Yao has rejoined DTZ/Cushman & Wakefield after being appointed as Senior Manager of Retail Services in Beijing. She left the firm’s Shenyang office at the start of the year to join AmCham China. Yao worked for DTZ/Cushman & Wakefield’s Shenyang outfit for more than four and a half years starting as a Senior Officer and working her way up to Senior Manager.

joanne-lee-2Joanne Lee is taking on a new challenge at Colliers International after being appointed Associate Director, Valuation & Advisory Services. She had spent nearly nine years with the firm as Associate Director – Research & Advisory. Lee will continue to work out of Colliers’ Hong Kong office. Before signing on with her current employer, she worked at JLL as an Analyst in the Research & Consultancy division.

As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the community here at Mingtiandi.
