Summer is nearly over, and many of Asia’s real estate professionals are going back to work at a new desk after the summer holidays. This week, China’s richest man loses a team member to a cross-border private equity shop, a specialist research house takes on a new senior hire, and much more. Read on for all the details.

ryan levineRyan Levine has joined Cindat Capital Management in New York as a Vice President. Levine steps aboard at the cross-border real estate private equity specialists after previously serving over a year as a deputy general manager with Dalian Wanda Group’s International Real Estate Center in Beijing. At Wanda, Levine was involved in the sourcing, acquiring and early stage asset management of development projects in Europe, and the Yale University graduate also has experience with JLL, Barclays Capital, and BNP Paribas.

andrew nessAndrew Ness is now a Senior Executive Director with specialist property research house, Real Estate Foresight, based in Hong Kong. In his new role with Robert Ciemniak’s team of data crunchers, Ness is charged with expanding the independent real estate analytics, research and financial technology firm’s existing business and leading the development of new services. Previously, Ness had spent more than three years heading up DTZ’s research efforts, first in North Asia, and then for Greater China. The Columbia University graduate also has experience with CBRE and the ULI in the region.

cassius taylorCassius Taylor-Smith has joined Colliers International as Executive Director and head of marketing and communications for Asia, based in Hong Kong. In his new role, Taylor-Smith is responsible for developing the property consultancy’s strategic communications agenda and for leading the departmental team throughout the region. Prior to signing up with Colliers, Taylor had owned and operated Giant Communications, a marketing consultancy specialising in serving property firms in Hong Kong and London.

may chowMay Chow has joined the Urban Land Institute as Senior Vice President for Marketing and Communications for Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong. Chow is now in charge of strategic marketing and communications across the region for the property industry non-profit, as it continues to build up its platform in the region. Prior to joining the ULI team this month, Chow had spent more than eight years with Colliers International in Hong Kong, most recently as Senior Director for Marketing and Communications for Asia.

xiaoqiang liuXiaoqiang Liu is now Vice Design Director with Country Garden Holdings, based in Shenzhen, Guangdong. Liu, who formerly served with US architecture firm Gensler in Los Angeles, will be part of the team designing the top five mainland developer’s 1,400 hectare Forest City project in Malaysia’s Johor state. In more than two years at Gensler, the Shenzhen University graduate had worked on projects including the IMAX headquarters in Los Angeles and Sands Korea in Seoul.

chuyi wangChuyi (Samantha) Wang has been promoted to Relationship Manager at Juwai.com, based in Shanghai. Wang takes her step up at the cross-border property listings platform after joining the company just one year ago as a Consumer Partnership Specialist. Juwai, which was founded in 2010, has been expanding rapidly as Chinese consumers continue to look for homes and investment opportunities beyond the country’s borders.
