Brokers and architects feature in this week’s roundup of familiar faces in new places, as Cushman & Wakefield promotes a senior investment advisor and a pair of heavyweight US design firms find new leadership for their teams in the region. All the latest on who will be trying out a new desk this month awaits you below.

Alvin Yip CushmanAlvin Yip has been promoted to President for Capital Markets in Greater China at Cushman & Wakefield, according to a recent statement by the international property consultancy. Yip, who will continue to be based in Hong Kong, takes his step up as C&W debuts the Capital Markets nomenclature for the service division formerly know as its Investment & Advisory business. The US-based firm updated the name to better reflect the team’s services and to align with the global conventions used by its investment services division. Yip, who built Cushman & Wakefield’s mainland investment team starting in 2006, will now be driving the company’s Capital Markets and Investor Services business across the Greater China region.

todd pilgreen GenslerTodd Pilgreen has joined Gensler in Shanghai as Design Director with the US architecture firm. Pilgreen took over his new role last month after more than a decade of practicing in China, including most recently spending more than two years with Long Beach, California-based Retail Design Collaborative, where he served as General Manager. The UCLA-trained architect also has experience on the mainland with Jerde.

dongmin shim HBADongmin Shim is now on board with Hirsch Bedner Associates in Singapore as Director of Architecture with the international hospitality design specialists. Shim found his new desk at the US firm last month after more than seven years with Wow Architects in Singapore. The graduate of Stanford and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design also has experience with AECOM in Shanghai and Spark Architects in Beijing.

Gordon Fan came on board at CBRE in Hong Kong this month where he now serves as a Director with the property agency’s Advisory and Transaction Services team for Hong Kong. In his new role carrying the white and green name card, Fan will be advising tenants on office space in the world’s priciest place to park staff after spending more than eight years with the Corporate Real Estate Services team at Standard Chartered Bank in the city, where he served most recently as Head of Asset Management and Business Alignment.

Jacob Chen CushmanJacob Chen has been promoted to Associate Director and Head of Capital Markets for South China with Cushman & Wakefield. The bigger desk comes after Chen served two and a half years as a Senior Manager with C&W in Shenzhen, where he will continue to be based after taking on his new duties this month. The graduate of National Taipei University and the University of Reading graduate has now been with Cushman since 2013.

Ben Gu CBREBen Gu has joined CBRE this month as Head of Capital Markets in Shenzhen. Gu takes on his role at the real estate consultancy after six years at competitor JLL, where he served most recently as a Local Director with a background in industrial real estate transactions. The graduate of Guangdong Polytechnical Normal University also has experience with Kuehne and Nagel, and Damco in Shenzhen.
