Asia Real Estate People in the News 2019-12-30

As 2019 comes to a close a few professionals around the region are still switching desks, with a freshly listed Shanghai developer announcing a flock of changes to its board just five months after a July IPO. In addition to the corporate board reshuffle, the end of the year finds veteran brokers settling into new homes before the traditional mass job migration following the turn of the year.

albert yau zhongliangAlbert Yau has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer of top 20 mainland developer Zhongliang Holdings, according to an announcement to the Hong Kong stock exchange on 23 December. Yau, who previously served as Group Vice President with Zhongliang, takes his step up just five months after the developer’s July IPO on the HKSE, and will also serve as an Executive Director and the legal representative of the company.

Chen Hongliang has been appointed as an Executive Director with Zhongliang Holdings, after being promoted to Co-President of the company’s property business in September of this year, according to the same stock market announcement. Now 38, Chen has been with Zhongliang since 2009, and is now primarily responsible for governance and management, as well as looking after real estate information management and brand building for the developer.

In the third recent addition to its board, Zhongliang Holdings has appointed Li Heili as an Executive Director, after the 32-year-old was promoted to Co-President in September alongside Chen Hongliang. Li has been with the Shanghai-based firm since 2015, and has primary responsibility for managing the developer’s investment, product research, sales and customer service and other business operations, according to the company.

john li savillsSavills has brought back a former team member in an elevated role in its Xiamen office, with the property consultancy announcing recently that John Li has been appointed Director of Property and Asset Management Services for its Fujian province division. Li, who rejoins Savills after serving as general manager for the Guangzhou Goldtak Center commercial development in Guangzhou, had previously worked as an Assistant Director of Property and Asset Management Services for Savills Xiamen.

bryant cheung CushmanBryant Cheung has been promoted to Director with Cushman & Wakefield in Hong Kong, where he heads the property services firm’s Project and Development Services division. Cheung took his step up after just six months as an Associate Director in the same division, after first joining the company as an Assistant Project Manager in 2010. In his new role, the graduate of the Master’s in Construction Project Management program at the University of Hong Kong leads strategic planning for corporate projects on behalf of C&W’s clients, while overseeing ongoing management.

tony ho colliersTony Ho has joined Colliers International in Hong Kong as a Director with the company’s China Valuation and Advisory division. Ho joins the Colliers team after two years as a director with financial news agency ET Net. The graduate of Indian State University in the US also previously served as Managing Director of East Asia with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, in addition to having previous experience with Hong Kong’s Prudential Surveyors and DTZ (now part of Cushman & Wakefield).

ryan ukrainec savillsRyan Ukrainec has been promoted to Senior Manager with the investment team at Savills in Beijing, after five years with the company’s research division in the capital. The graduate of the University of Technology in Sydney also has previous experience with consultancy network Gerson Lehman Group and with UBS. In his new role on the investment team, Ukrainec will be advising clients on asset sales and equity transfers, as well as other types of property transactions.
