The inauguration ceremony for Nanxiang Merchant International Trade & Logistics Park was held in Wuhu City on March.28, officially launching a logistics park with construction area of over 3 million square meters in the city.
The park, listed as one among a batch of major projects of high importance in Anhui Province, is funded by Nanxiang Merchant Logistics & Industrial Corporation, with investment of more than 8 billion yuan.
The park is designed to cover over 100 million consumers in eastern and central China region and to create a market worth 50 million yuan. The project is also expected to provide over 100,000 job posts for local area.
Seven functions will be integrated in the park, namely, international trade and purchase center, distribution center, collection and distribution center, center for deep processing of semi-finished products, conference and exhibition center, electronic commerce center, and integrated supporting service center.
The establishment of the logistics park in Wuhu is considered as a major boost on the city’s comprehensive competitiveness, and the construction of industrial transfer zone along Anhui section of Yangtze River, or Wanjiang Demonstration Zone.
Wuhu mapped out a target of total output value of 280 billion yuan, and output value per capita of over 100,000 yuan by the year of 2015.
