2016/06/20 by Michael Cole Leave a Comment

This week Greater China’s real estate professionals refuse to settle down for the summer, as a capital markets chief from one of the major agencies heads home to New Zealand after an extended visit in Hong Kong, a former agency CEO finds a new role running a major Singaporean consultancy, and much more. Read on for all the details.

richard kirkeRichard Kirke will be leaving his position as head of CBRE’s Capital Markets team for APAC at the end of August to head home to New Zealand. Once back in the southern hemisphere, the one-time professional rugby player will be heading up CBRE’s Auckland office, running an operation that he left nearly eight years ago to come to Asia. Kirke had been with CBRE in Hong Kong for over a year, after spending nearly six years running Colliers International’s office in the city. Speaking with Mingtiandi, Kirke noted that back in New Zealand he plans to assist Asian investors making investments in the country, once he begins his new role on September 1st.

Sanjay DuttFormer Cushman & Wakefield executive Sanjay Dutt has been appointed as the new CEO for India with Ascendas-Singbridge Group. Dutt, who previously had been the head of Cushman & Wakefield’s India subsidiary before the company was acquired by TPG-backed DTZ last year, will begin his new duties with the Singapore-based urban planning and development firm from August 1st, taking over from Lee Fu Nyap, who is returning to the company’s head office to assume a new role as executive vice president for real estate investment & funds.

ryan chuRyan Chu is now Marketing and Communications Director with Colliers International in Taipei. The former advertising executive takes a step up to full director after more than nine years with the property consultancy, where she helps lead brand marketing, communications and public relations. A graduate of Shih Chien University in Taiwan, Chu also has experience with spirits brand Remy Martin, as well as having formerly worked with Grey Worldwide.

chen yueChen Yue has been promoted to Senior Associate Director with Shanghai Mapletree Management in Shanghai. Chen promotion comes after the Nanjing University of Science and Technology graduate spent more than three years with Mapletree in the city as an Associate Director. Before joining the Singapore-based developer and investor, Chen had also spent more than three years with project management firm Turner & Townsend in the city.

As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the community here at Mingtiandi.
