Greater China Real Estate People in the News 2016-02-15

2016/02/15 by Michael Cole

The region’s real estate people are right back on the job wheel after the break, with a fresh set of familiar faces in new places. This week a corporate real estate exec goes digital, logistics mergers bring new roles and one of China’s biggest developers builds up its marketing team in the US. Read on for all this and more.

ying leeYing Lee is now Global Property Alignment Leader for GE Digital as the corporate real estate veteran moves into a new role with the American conglomerate. Lee takes on her new role with the recently-formed software and IT unit of GE this month after serving more than three years as the company’s Regional Leader for Real Estate Services, based in Shanghai. The University of Sydney graduate has been at GE for more than six years, and also spent time at Colliers International and at Singapore’s Jurong International.

jonathan mccallJonathan McCall is now Associate Director for Capital Markets with e-Shang Redwood. The new role for McCall was announced just weeks after Shanghai-based e-Shang and Singapore’s Redwood combined to form one of Asia’s largest logistics platforms, a story which was first reported here on Mingtiandi. McCall, who joined Redwood in Shanghai in 2014, has been focused on monitoring and reporting on performance of the company’s existing projects, as well as researching new investment opportunities, and will continue to be based in the city.

simon loSimon Lo has left his role as head of Research & Advisory for Asia with Colliers International to set up his own independent advisory firm. Before leaving the company last month, Lo had spent seven years with Colliers, and was based in the agency’s Hong Kong office. The University of Hong Kong graduate is keeping tight-lipped about plans for his new startup, but says that the company is already in the process of gathering new partners.

ruby huangRuby (Rui) Huang has joined Greenland USA as PR and Marketing Manager, based in Los Angeles. Huang, who previously had spent nearly two years with the marketing team at luxury agency Douglas Elliman in California, joins as the affiliate of Chinese developer Greenland Group ramps up the marketing of its high-end Metropolis condo project in downtown Los Angeles. The graduate of Beijing’s University of International Studies also has previous experience with PR agencies Edelman and Ogilvy Public Relations.

kay hoKay Ho has joined JLL as an Associate Director for Regional Transaction Management in APAC, based in Hong Kong. This new role is a return engagement for Ho with JLL, after the University of New South Wales graduate had spent the previous two years with Colliers International in Hong Kong as an Associate Director looking after their corporate clients. From 2007 to 2013, Ho had worked with JLL’s tenant representation team in the city assisting occupiers with office leasing requirements.

aileen sunAileen Sun has joined the Link REIT in Shanghai as a Leasing Manager for its Corporate Avenue Phase One project, as Asia’s largest real estate investment trust ramps up its team on the mainland. Sun joins Link REIT after more than 15 years with Shui On Land, where she served most recently as a Deputy Manager for Office Leasing. Link REIT acquired the Corporate Avenue assets from Shui On last year in a blockbuster $1.1 billion deal.

As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the commu
