December welcomes China’s community of real estate professionals with a second consecutive week of high level defections from a major agency’s retail team, a veteran asset manager joining an Aussie financial giant, and a veteran logistics broker setting up his own shop. Read on for more details.
Kenith Kong has joined DTZ in Beijing as Director and Head of Retail Services for China with the real estate services provider. Kong’s new position comes as he leaves competitor CBRE after spending more than a year with the US-based firm as National Retail Services Director. Kong’s job change was announced just one week after CBRE’s head of retail services for Shanghai, Angela Wu, left to join Hong Kong developer Nan Fung.
Kevin Cheng has joined Macquarie Group as a Vice President with the Australian financial giant. Cheng’s new role comes after the University of New South Wales graduate had spent three years with Grosvenor as Asset Manager and General Manager for the UK real estate developer’s Parkside Plaza at Changfeng project in Shanghai. Before joining Grosvenor, Cheng had worked at Treasury Holdings, Brookfield and Australian real estate group Mirvac.
Wayne Wang is now Principal at specialty logistics real estate agency Chaintouch, based in Shanghai. Wang established Chaintouch together with fellow JLL veteran Alex Wang to cater to occupiers and investors looking for opportunities in China’s burgeoning warehouse market. Before starting the new agency, Wayne spent eight years with JLL, first with the company’s research team, and later joining the company’s industrial real estate services division.
Ying Zhang has been promoted to Leasing Manager with JLL’s Property and Asset Management division based in Shanghai. Zhang’s promotion from Assistant Leasing Manager with the real estate service provider comes after the Shanghai International Studies University graduate has been with the company for more than four years, serving most recently with the management team for the Taiping Finance Tower in Pudong’s Lujiazui financial district.
As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the community here at Mingtiandi.
