China Real Estate People in the News 2014-11-24

This week Hong Kong’s developers seem to be on a hiring spree, taking up three of the seven places on the list of new hires. Gains by the big builders appear to be offset by losses at a major property services firm, and there are still more role changes as we head into the holiday season. Read on for more details.

Icy Ip Wing Lung BankIcy Ip has joined Wing Lung Bank as an Assistant Vice President with the Hong Kong-based financial company’s retail banking division. In her new role Ip will be responsible for leasing, property investment and branch establishment. Prior to joining Wing Lung the Hong Kong Polytechnic graduate had spent more than two years as an Assistant Leasing Manager with developer Chinese Estates Holdings.

Andy Wilianto CitiAndy Wilianto has joined Citi as Vice President and Head of Project Management for China with the US financial services giant. In his new role Wilianto will continue to be based in Shanghai and will be responsible for design management, project planning and programming, cost management and other areas of construction and design management for Citi in China. Before taking on his new role the University of Michigan graduate spent more than three years with CBRE, most recently as an Associate Director with the company’s project management team.

Angela Wu NanfungAngela Wu has joined Nanfung China as a Senior Manager with the privately held Hong Kong developer’s team in Shanghai. Wu joins Nanfung after spending six and a half years with CBRE’s retail services division, most recently as a director and head of the company’s retail services division in Shanghai. With the departure of the eight-year industry veteran CBRE’s Shanghai office has now suffered more than 15 director level departures in the last calendar year.

Vienne Chan has joined Wheelock Properties (HK) Limited as Senior Property Development Officer with the real estate developer’s home office in Hong Kong. Chan’s new role with the builder of landmark buildings such as Crawford House and Wheelock House in Hong Kong, Scotts Square and Wheelock Place in Singapore and Wheelock Square in Shanghai will involve the development and management of new properties as well as the existing portfolio.

Regina ChungRegina Chung has joined Corporate Visions as head of residential with the specialist real estate services agency in Singapore. In her new role Chung will put her 18 years of industry experience into private residential sales and investment, corporate tenant representation, and commercial sales and leasing. Chung is taking on her new challenge after three years as the head of residential with Savills in Singapore.

May Hua Cushman & WakefieldMay Hua has joined Cushman & Wakefield in Shanghai as Senior Business Development Manager for project management with the real estate service provider. Hua joins the C&W team after more than six years with US-based design and architecture firm M Moser Associates. In addition to her time at M Moser, the ten-year industry veteran also has experience working with design firms DB&B and EDG in Shanghai.

Darren Jensen REAChFormer Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors leader Darren Jensen has joined REACh Asia and its affiliate The Real Estate Academy China (REACh) as Commercial Director for Asia with the real estate training institution. In his new role Jensen will be working with REACh founder Keith McKinnell to expand the program of professional training workshops and other learning opportunities offered by the Academy.
