This week Fosun takes on some leadership for its new logistics investment division, Dalian Wanda brings on board more international talent, and US mall developer Taubman builds up its leasing team in Shanghai. Read on for more faces in new places in China’s community of real estate professionals.
Richard Liu has joined Stater Capital, a subsidiary of Fosun, as Regional Director for East China. Liu, who formerly served as an Associate Director with CBRE in Shanghai, will be responsible in charge of land acquisition, marketing and leasing in the region for the logistics real estate investment venture. At CBRE, Liu had been part of the Industrial and Logistics Services team, which has seen continued turnover in recent months, despite record demand from tenants for warehouse space.
Michael Purefoy is now Deputy General Manager with the Overseas Real Estate Center at Dalian Wanda Group in Beijing. The China veteran was most recently with the Rockefeller family’s Rose Rock Group where he served as a Senior Vice President, after joining from US developer Hines. With Wanda, Purefoy will oversee and manage sales and marketing activities for the rapidly growing overseas portfolio of projects being acquired by the developer belonging to China’s wealthiest man, Wang Jianlin.
Mark Ho has joined Deutsche Asset Management as Vice President with the asset management division of the German financial services giant, based in Singapore. Prior to taking on his new position last month, Ho had been Director of Investment Research with real estate services provider Jones Lang LaSalle in Beijing. The University of Pennsylvania graduate had prior experience in Singapore from serving as an Assistant Vice President there for Pacific Star Group from 2007 to 2011.
Sean O’Sullivan has joined Taubman Asia as Leasing Director for the Michigan-based mall developer’s CityOn Zhengzhou project, effective today. O’Sullivan, who up until recently was a Senior Associate Director with real estate consultancy Colliers International in Shanghai, also has experience as Senior Leasing Manager with Asia Pacific Land in Shanghai, and has a Master’s Degree in Chinese Studies from St John’s University in the US.
Jerry Qiu has been promoted to Senior Manager, Property and Asset Management at JLL. With the new role comes a move for Qiu from Shanghai, up the Yangtze to Nanjing in Jiangsu province. The Donghua University graduate has been with JLL since 2007, and has steadily moved up the ranks of the company’s property services division. Qiu also has experience working with local developer Jinmao Property in Shanghai.
Renee Hu has joined US high-tech giant Cisco as Workplace Manager for Greater China, based in the company’s Shanghai office. Hu comes to the network equipment supplier from property services firm CBRE, where she had served for more than three years with the company’s project management division. The Southern New Hampshire University graduate also has experience as an Assistant Project Manager with Cushman & Wakefield.
Ken Wu has been promoted to Senior Manager at RET Property Consultancy where he is responsible for business development, focusing on multi-use complex and retail development projects. The step up comes just six months after Wu joined the Beijing-based property services firm from Cushman & Wakefield, where he had served for more than four years, most recently in the retail services division.
Edith Cai has joined mall developer K11 Concepts Limited as a Deputy Manager in Guangzhou. Cai comes to the retail subsidiary of Hong Kong-listed New World Properties after spending more than two and a half years with rival Sun Hung Kai Properties. Guangdong University of Foreign Study graduate also has more than two and a half years of experience working with property consultancy CBRE.
Eunice Tang has been promoted to Manager for Business Development at The Executive Centre in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University graduate makes the jump to this new level after spending just over a year with the Hong Kong-based service office provider, where she previously held the title of Assistant Marketing and Development Manager. Tang also has experience with serviced office provider Conson Business Ltd.
Louisa Mao has joined Ping An Property (Shanghai) E-commerce Co.,Ltd as Overseas Real Estate Marketing Manager based in Shanghai. The Shanghai University graduate formerly served with UK-based real estate services provider Savills as a Senior Associate, where she was involved in the company’s leasing of BenQ Plaza as well as for Gubei International Fortune Center in western Shanghai.
