As Greater China’s real estate professionals return from the Spring Festival holiday, many of them are coming back to bigger roles in new cities. This week we have a former agency GM joining a serviced apartment investor, a Shanghai and Hong Kong veteran relocating to Tokyo and more. Read on for details.
Alex Young is now Vice President and Business Development Director at Nova Property Investment in Shanghai. Young joins the Warburg Pincus-invested serviced apartment investment vehicle after spending more than seven years with DTZ, most recently as General Manager of the property services company’s Wuhan and Changsha offices. At Nova, Young will be specializing in property acquisition and operation.
Sophie Tien has been promoted to Executive Director with CITIC Capital, based in Shanghai. The step up from her Director position with the state-run investment firm comes less than two years after Tien joined CITIC from property consultancy JLL. At CITIC, the graduate of Temple University in the US is part of the investment conglomerate’s real estate division, where she specialises in asset management.
Sheridan Ware has been promoted to Executive Director – Head of Technology for Asia Pacific at Cushman & Wakefield. For this latest role, Ware will be relocating from Sydney, Australia – where she had served as Director of Operations for the real estate consultancy’s Corporate Occupier & Investor Services division – to Hong Kong. In her new role Ware will be tasked with driving adoption of client technology platforms and enhancing staff productivity at C&W.
Charles Kelly has been promoted to Senior Director and Head of Tenant Representation for CBRE’s Occupier Services division in Japan. Kelly takes the step up after serving as an Account Director with CBRE’s Global Corporate Services division in Hong Kong for the past two years. In his new role, Kelly and his team are responsible for representing multinational occupiers in identifying and procuring office space across the Japan market.
Robert Li has joined Tishman Speyer in Shanghai, where he will specialise in acquisitions and the equity capital market. Li comes to the US developer from UK competitor Grosvenor, where he had spent two and a half years as an investment analyst. The graduate of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics also has previous experience as a management trainee with Hong Kong developer, Shui On Land.
Jileen Loo has joined CBRE in London as a Director with the real estate consultancy’s Global Capital Markets team. Loo rejoins CBRE after setting up her own real estate services company, Bath Time Holiday Homes in the UK. The University of Auckland graduate previously spent more than four years with CBRE in Shanghai, most recently as a Senior Director in charge of occupier site selection with the company’s industrial services division.
