Mingtiandi Tokyo Forum Attracts 227 Industry Leaders

Mingtiandi’s return to Tokyo on Wednesday brought together 227 senior executives for Japan’s largest real estate investment event of 2025, featuring interviews and insights from leaders representing Brookfield Asset Management, Warburg Pincus and Japan Development Bank among other major investors.

37 speakers took the stage for the full-day event at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel to engage in discussions of the hottest sectors in Japan and across the broader Asia Pacific region.

Attendance for this year’s event represented a significant increase from the 208 guests who joined the inaugural Mingtiandi Tokyo Forum last year as Japan continues to grow in importance with investors targeting opportunities in Asia Pacific.

The programme included interviews with Andrew Burych, managing partner and head of east and southeast Asia real estate for Brookfield as well as with Tak Murata, managing director and co-head of Asia real estate with Warburg Pincus.

A third interview brought together Deloitte Tohmatsu partner Masayuki Ito with Yuichi Sunaga, a senior manager with the professional services firm’s consulting affiliate.

In addition to the interview, the forum included panels on top strategies for fund managers, lodging sector investment, the benefits of value-add and development strategies for hospitality investment, residential deals across APAC, the impact of Japan’s tourism boom on hotel investment, and global opportunities for Japanese capital.

All ten discussions at the forum, which was sponsored by Yardi, are being covered in dedicated stories published on Mingtiandi on this week, complete with full-length recordings of each segment.

2026 Event Calendar Ready

The Tokyo Forum concludes Mingtiandi’s programme of events for this year, with online forums on residential, logistics and data centres already scheduled for 2026, in addition to the return of our events in Singapore and Tokyo. Also in 2026, the team will head south of the equator for the first time, for our inaugural Mingtiandi Sydney Forum.

A full 2026 event calendar is available here.

Our sixth annual MTD TV residential forum will be held in March 2026, featuring panels on multi-family investment in Japan, Korea and Australia.

Then in May Mingtiandi will go on-location in Singapore for a full day of sessions on strategies for the Lion City, Southeast Asia, India and beyond.

In June we will bring you our sixth annual MTD TV logistics forum, before heading to Sydney in September.

With digital infrastructure continuing to grow in interest among international investors, Mingtiandi will host its sixth annual data centre forum online in October.

In November 2026 the Mingtiandi team will return to Tokyo for our third annual forum in Japan, with a number of speaking roles having already been booked.

Note: this story has been updated to show the final attendance tally of 227 guests at the event.
