Mingtiandi’s Singapore forum continues to build its roster of speakers from the world’s largest real estate investment organisations, with senior representatives of Brookfield Asset Management and Bain Capital set to appear in spotlight interviews in the 10 September event.
The full-day programme at the Pan-Pacific Orchard Hotel in Singapore will open with Mingtiandi founder Michael Cole interviewing Brookfield Asset Management managing partner and head of East Asia real estate Andrew Burych, who will be sharing insights from his experience leading investment and portfolio management in the region for the Canadian giant.
Also new to the speaker roster are Bain Capital executives Michael Hui, a partner who heads special situations and real estate for China with the investment firm, and Man Kinoshita, a partner from Bain’s Japan special situations team, who will appear in a spotlight interview during the event’s afternoon session.
Over the past week, the Singapore forum, which is sponsored by Yardi, has also confirmed speakers from LHN Group, The Assembly Place, the Singapore Exchange, Fraxtor, Knight Frank and Bain & Company.
Rental Residential, Cross-Border Investment in Focus
With over 200 senior representatives from institutional real estate investors expected to attend the Mingtiandi Singapore Forum, the programme focuses on opportunities in Southeast Asia and the surrounding regions, with sessions on Asia’s hottest strategies, sectors and locations.

Now confirmed for a panel on residential investment in Asia Pacific are Kelvin Lim, executive chairman, executive director and group managing director for LHN Group, which owns and operates Coliwoo co-living in Singapore, as well as Eugene Lim, founder and chief executive officer of fast-growing co-living operator The Assembly Place, which is also based in the city-state.
The two executives will be appearing alongside Centurion Corporation chief investment officer Ho Lip Chin in a session which brings together three of Singapore’s biggest rental residential players.
Also confirming their participation in the forum this past week were Ronald Tan, senior vice president for global sales and origination with the capital markets division of the Singapore Exchange and Tom Kidd, a Singapore-based partner with management consulting firm Bain & Company.
Tan and Kidd will be joining the Singapore as Global Capital Hub panel moderated by DLA Piper partner Ciaran Londra, alongside Samuel Lee, chief executive of online investment platform Fraxtor, in a session that focuses on how the city-state’s supportive ecosystem is drawing in global investors at the same time that Singaporean capital plays a greater in markets worldwide.
With the Lion City’s markets for office buildings and shopping centres showing signs of a rebound in recent months, Galven Tan, chief executive officer for Knight Frank Singapore will be helping to lead a panel on the city-state’s investment markets which will look at where buyers and sellers are beginning to narrow price gaps for assets.
In the coming days Mingtiandi expects to confirm additional speakers for a panel on Asia Pacific hospitality investment which already features Kazuya Wakimoto, general manager for global real estate business planning and promotion with Japan’s Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank.
Industrial, India and More
Speakers who had earlier confirmed their participation in the forum include ESR head of Southeast Asia Jai Mirpuri, who is joining a panel on Southeast Asia’s industrial outlook that will look at the impact that the diversification of global supply chains is having on demand for manufacturing and logistics space in the region.
A panel focused on India opportunities includes Josephine Yip, vice president for investments and asset management for Asia Pacific at Ivanhoé Cambridge with more speakers expected to join the discussion in the coming days.
Leading off the forum’s afternoon session will be a keynote panel featuring Alessandro Fiascaris, head of Asia Pacific for Oxford Properties, Laurent Fischler, head of investments for Asia Pacific at Ivanhoé Cambridge and Jeremy Lake, managing director for investment sales and capital markets with Savills Singapore.
With 2024 marking the third consecutive year for Mingtiandi’s Singapore forum, more than 100 industry executives have already registered for the exclusive event.
In 2023, more than 85 percent of the attendees at Mingtiandi’s Singapore forum held director-level or higher positions, with 39 percent working in the alternative investment industry. Another 12 percent represented major pension funds, insurers and sovereign wealth funds.
Among the top investors attending last year’s Singapore forum were senior representatives of APG Asset Management, BlackRock, CapitaLand Investment, Macquarie Asset Management, Tishman Speyer and Warburg Pincus.
