Opportunities for investing in digital infrastructure in Japan and Korea, as well as strategies for creating more sustainable server facilities, are in focus this week in Mingtiandi’s APAC Data Centre Forum 2022.
The online event series on MTD TV, which is sponsored by Yardi, will host experts from some of the industry’s best-known operators, investors and advisors during its third and final week, as we take a closer look at some of the region’s biggest markets and most critical challenges.
The week’s first session will be at 10:00 AM Hong Kong time on Tuesday, 20 September, as we dive into some of the most recent projects to enter the Japan and Korea markets, with leaders of three major investment firms and a veteran advisor.
On the show, viewers will hear from Diarmid Massey, chief executive of the data centre division of ESR; Jing Zhou, senior director for alternative and strategic transactions at Nuveen; Bob Tan, executive director with the data centre practice group on JLL’s capital markets team; and Sam Lee, managing director for market and commercial development with EdgeConneX, a data centre developer and operator backed by private equity firm EQT.

The data centre forum will continue at 10:00 AM Hong Kong time on Thursday, 22 September with a session on sustainable data centre innovation, which looks at the challenges facing both investors and operators seeking to balance demand for more cloud computing capacity against the need to lower greenhouse gas emissions and achieve carbon neutrality.
In the sustainability panel, Mingtiandi will welcome Joe Gooi, chief executive of SC Capital Partners’ SC Zeus Data Centers; Josephine Yip, senior director for investments and asset management for Asia Pacific at Ivanhoe Cambridge; Tan Bee Lay, chief sustainability officer with fractional investment platform SDAX; and Alton Wong, an executive director with Cushman & Wakefield who is head of advisory services and co-head of sustainability services for the firm’s Greater China division.

Following the conclusion of the APAC Data Centre Forum 2022 this week, Mingtiandi will be set to welcome guests to our first ever event in Singapore on 18 October.
The Singapore Focus Forum 2022 features speakers from Warburg Pincus, Ivanhoe Cambridge, Oxford Properties and Allianz Real Estate, among more than 25 industry leaders on the program, for a full day of discussions on stage at the ParkRoyal Collection Marina Bay hotel.
The show, which will also be carried on MTD TV, features a keynote interview with Warburg Pincus executive Jeffrey Perlman, and includes panels covering office, industrial and value-add strategies in the Lion City, as well as sessions on Singaporean investment in Australia and development of the REIT industry in the Asian financial hub.
