Beike has moved quickly to name new leadership following the death of its founder earlier this month, and news of the company’s new boss takes the top spot in Mingtiandi’s collection of people moves this week. In Singapore, local brokerage Edmund Tie has decided to lead with research, while Savills Investment Management imports some fresh talent from the US. Colliers International is also active, with the brokerage making a series of senior management moves in recent days.

PENG Yongdong BeikeNYSE-listed Ke Holdings, the corporate vehicle for China real estate listings site Beike, has appointed Peng Yongdong as chairman of the board, following the demise of founder Zuo Hui earlier this month. Peng, who co-founded the spin-off of mainland property agency Lianjia (Homelink), already had been serving as chief executive and executive director of the company. Xu Wangang, Ke’s chief operating officer, was also appointed as an executive director on the company’s board, according to a statement.

Gabriellla Aram WooGabriella Aram Woo has joined Savills Investment Management in Singapore as an associate director, according to an update to her LinkedIn profile. Woo joins the fund management unit of the UK’s Savills from USAA Real Estate, where she had served as a senior associate. Before earning her master’s degree in real estate at Columbia University, Woo had spent more than three years working with Savills’ brokerage business in Seoul, South Korea.

Desmond SimSingapore property agency Edmund Tie announced this past week that it has appointed Desmond Sim as deputy chief executive officer effective 1 June, with the one-time CBRE researcher set to take over the chief executive role from long-time boss Ong Choon Fah from July of this year. Until March of 2021 Sim had served as head of research for Singapore and Southeast Asia at CBRE, and also has previous experience with JLL in business development and consultancy.

Agnes heuColliers International announced this past week that it has appointed Agnes Heu as director of office services in Singapore, where she will report to executive director and department head June Chua, who joined the property consultancy in January of this year. Heu is coming aboard with the Toronto-based firm from rival Savills, where she had worked for more than 12 years and risen to the rank of director.

Jo LedarneyAnother Colliers personnel move this past week came in Hong Kong, where the company promoted Jo Ledarney to head of people and performance for the city. The University of British Columbia graduate takes on the new role after serving two years in talent acquisition for the company at the regional level. Ledarney previously spent a decade with Michael Page in the region, including two years as head of client development in Hong Kong.

Jennifer KangColliers has also been active in mainland China, where it earlier this month appointed Jennifer Kang as vice general manager of its Chongqing office. Kang, who previous worked with Dalian Wanda Group spin-off Wanda Sports, is tasked with assisting Keng Geng, Colliers’ managing director for Southwest China, with managing the property consultancy’s business functions and service lines, where the company is hoping to leverage her experience in the culture and leisure sector.

Long-time Shanghai property executive Bunny Wang has taken on a new role as a senior director with Shanghai Yanqi Supply Chain Co Ltd, where she supports the company’s asset management, financing and investment. Wang stepped into her new position this month after more than two years with boutique investment brokerage Core Capital Asia, where she also served as a senior director. The graduate of Shanghai International Studies University also has previous experience with JLL, Knight Frank and Colliers International.
