International property consultancy Knight Frank announced this week that it has promoted Benjamin Zhang to head its landlord representation in Shanghai, as the UK-based company following the newcomer’s strong performance in his first few months with the team.
According to a statement from the real estate service provider, Zhang will now be responsible for leading the company’s team providing leasing, sales and asset management services for foreign and local developers in Shanghai after joining Knight Frank in April.
Commenting on Zhang’s new role, Graham Zink, Managing Director of Knight Frank’s Shanghai office said, “Benjamin’s proven tenant representation experience and extensive asset management knowledge brings a unique skill set to advise landlords and occupiers.” With his success in securing an 80,000 sq. m mixed use project mandate during his first quarter representing Knight Frank, we are confident that our Landlord Representation platform will achieve exceptional growth going forward.”
Knight Frank’s Landlord Representation Services was established in Shanghai this year in April to integrate all office and retail resources to provide comprehensive solutions for a diverse range of office buildings, retail and large scale complex mixed-used projects. The team provides a range of services that includes initial market research, strategic consultancy, marketing positioning to professional leasing, sales and asset management services upon project completion.
Before joining Knight Frank, Benjamin served as a leasing manager for Hong Kong-listed developer Kerry Properties, where he was responsible for planning, marketing, leasing and operating at the 112,000 sqm Kerry Centre project in Shanghai’s Jing An district.
Prior to joining Kerry, Zhang spent more than eight years with Cushman & Wakefield working with occupiers leasing prime office and business park space in Shanghai.
