China Real Estate People in the News 2014-04-07

This week Greater China’s real estate world sees a flurry of moves with Mapletree fortifying its Shanghai team, Dutch design firm MVRDV stepping up its mainland presence and even Coco Lee taking on a business development role. Read on for details.

John Yip MapletreeJohn Yip has relocated to Shanghai from Singapore to take on the role of Investment Manager with Singaporean real estate firm Shanghai Mapletree Management Co, Ltd. Before moving to Shanghai this month, Yip had served with Mapletree in the home office since July last year, after having previously worked at SNI Holdings, GIC, and Ernst & Young.

Frost Huang MVRDVFrost Huang is now Business Development Manager with Dutch design firm MVRDV, based in Shanghai. Before joining MVRDV this month Huang had served as a client manager with Woods Bagot in Shanghai for more than three years where he landed deals with developers such as CapitaLand, Vanke and Poly.

Coco Lee GanttCoco Lee is now Senior Business Development Manager for Project Management at engineering and project management consulting specialist Gantt Consulting in Shanghai. Prior to taking on this latest role with Gantt, Lee had held management roles at US flooring firm Shaw Industries, and at Shanghai Matsu Furniture Co. Ltd.

Patrick Stevens CBREPatrick Stevens is now an Assistant Manager with the Office Services department at CBRE in Hong Kong. Stevens serves the real estate agency’s clients looking for office space in the Kowloon market after having previously served as a research analyst with the company since June last year. Before joining CBRE Stevens had worked with the Portwood Company in Hong Kong as an analyst.

Thomas Yang DBSThomas Yang is now Branch Roll-out Project Manager at DBS Bank based in Shanghai. Yang joined the Singaporean bank after spending less than a year as a Project Manager with inProjects® Consultancy’s Shanghai branch. The Jiaotong University graduate specialises in office and retail fit-out projects and consulting.

Jade Tang Cushman & WakefieldJade Tang has joined international property consultancy Cushman & Wakefield as Assistant Facilities Manager based in Shanghai. Tang joins the US-based firm after having served with competitor JLL as a Facility Officer for slightly more than a year, where she worked on the company’s Apple account. Before working with JLL, Tang had been employed by US manufacturer Johnson Controls as a Facility Assistant.
