APG, GLP, Rava and Charter Hall to Star as Mingtiandi Logistics Forum Kicks Off

With industrial real estate continuing to be a focus for institutional investors, top executives from APG Asset Management, Invesco, GLP and Rava Partners will be sharing their market insights in a series of expert panel discussions on Mingtiandi’s MTD TV video platform beginning next week.

The investment heavyweights will be appearing in the sixth annual Mingtiandi APAC Logistics Forum, which is sponsored by Yardi, in a series of online panels starting from Tuesday, 17 June.

Dividing Asia Pacific into top geographic markets, the forum starts at 10:00 AM Hong Kong time on the 17th with a discussion of South Korea’s logistics market featuring APG Asset Management director Brian Hung; Duke Lee, head of investment and asset management at Pebblestone Asset Management and Invesco Real Estate senior director ST Hwang.

Tracking a Fast-Changing Market

With yields on China logistics assets now among the most attractive in the region, the logistics forum will focus on the mainland market in a panel at 10:00 AM Hong Kong time on Thursday, 19 June.

Joining that Middle Kingdom discussion will be Tim Wang, co-president of logistics and industrial real estate at GLP China; Johnny Shao, managing director with finance giant CITIC’s CPE fund management unit and James MacDonald, head of research for China with property consultancy Savills.

As the trade war has accelerated the diversification of supply chains in Asia Pacific this year investor interest in Southeast Asia and India has been on the rise at the same time that yield pressures have dented traditional core locations.

For a look at Asia’s emerging industrial real estate markets at 10:00 AM Hong Kong time on Tuesday, 24 June, Mingtiandi will welcome Priyank Shah, head of fund management with Rava Partners’ India-based Logicap unit; Paul Lee, chief executive officer and managing partner, with Northmod – the investment management affiliate of Singapore’s Equalbase and Ajay Sharma, managing director for valuation services for India at Colliers.

Australia on the Rise

The first months of this year have brought a string of Australia logistics deals involving investors from Japan, North America and other major markets with top international players pointing to the strong yields, rising rents and favourable supply-demand dynamics in one of Asia Pacific’s most transparent markets. 

To learn more about strategies for achieving yield as investors crowd into logistics Down Under, Mingtiandi’s Australia logistics panel on Thursday, 26 June will bring together Richard Stacker, industrial and logistics CEO with fund manager, Charter Hall; Troy Bryant, founder and co-CEO with Macquarie Asset Management-backed platform LogiSPACE; Robert McMickan, joint managing director with last-mile logistics specialist Hale Capital Partners and James King, senior director for portfolio management with Barings Real Estate.

Each of the panel sessions will last one hour with audience members having the opportunity to direct questions to the panelists through Mingtiandi’s online Q&A system.
