Weave Living Opens Two Singapore Locations, Boosting City-State Portfolio to 330 Units

Rental apartment specialist Weave Living has opened two new properties in Singapore, expanding the regional platform’s Lion City portfolio to three locations with a total of 330 units.

The fresh offerings include Weave Suites Hillside, set to debut next month with 175 premium units in the Orchard Road area’s Mount Sophia enclave, and Weave Residences East Coast in the Katong neighbourhood, now accepting bookings for its 93 luxury units.

Both properties are being pitched to renters who prioritise luxury and convenience, whether they’re seeking a premium serviced accommodation in the heart of the city or a family home on the laid-back coast, the company said in a release.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing these two exceptional locations to market as part of our continued expansion in Singapore and across the broader Asia Pacific region,” said Weave Living founder and CEO Sachin Doshi. “At Weave, we are committed to providing beautifully designed homes with a smarter, tech-enabled rental experience that empowers our residents to live the life they love.”

Citadines Asset Reborn

In early 2024, Hong Kong-based Weave acquired the future Weave Suites Hillside, then known as Citadines Mount Sophia, from CapitaLand Ascott Trust for S$148 million ($111 million) in a joint venture with a BlackRock fund. The asset previously served as the residential component of the Wilkie Edge mixed-use development at 8 Wilkie Road.

The 2008-vintage property is located less than a 10-minute walk from the Rochor and Bencoolen stations on the MRT’s Downtown line and is within 1 kilometre (0.6 miles) of Singapore Management University and just a few blocks from LaSalle College of the Arts.

Weave Suites Hillside offers 175 suites in open-plan studio or one- and two-bedroom layouts, with rents starting from S$199 per night with a minimum six-night stay and S$4,480 per month. Amenities include a gym, a yoga studio, outdoor terraces, lounges and co-working areas.

Weave Residences East Coast at 5 Still Road in Katong bills itself as the company’s first pet-friendly location in Singapore and features 93 self-contained residences from studios to two-bedroom apartments and penthouses with private pools. Located 10 minutes by foot from Marine Parade MRT station, the property offers units starting at S$3,700 per month with a minimum six-month stay.

Weave opened its first Singapore location, Weave Suites Midtown, in March 2023 and rapidly leased out the 65-unit set of former shophouses in Kampong Glam.

Regional Ramp-Up

Founded in 2017, Weave Living owns and operates 3,000 rental units across Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul and Singapore.

The company re-teamed with investment giant KKR last November on a multi-family programme aimed at assembling a portfolio of more than 3,000 units in Japan. The venture is seeded with 11 new properties in Tokyo, comprising 439 units acquired by Weave over a 12-month period.

Last March, Weave announced that it had secured Manhattan-based KKR as a capital partner for the regional apartment operator’s first investments in South Korea. The 98-unit Weave Place Hoegi opened in August in Seoul’s Dongdaemun area, and the 157-unit Weave Suites Sunyu Parkside debuted in December in the capital’s Yeouido business district.
