Panel: Opportunities for Data Centres in Southeast Asia MTD TV APAC Data Centre Forum 2023

2023/08/27 by Danita Phaopat Leave a Comment

With a youthful population of nearly 700 million, Southeast Asia is demonstrating some of the most rapid rates of tech adoption in Asia, with the region adding 100 million Internet users in the past three years. This fast expansion has left the ASEAN countries, among the most underserved in terms of data centre capacity, and is creating opportunities for digital infrastructure investors and operators.

With land and power constraints slowing growth in more mature markets, investors and operators are now turning to emerging hot spots such as Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand, which are all on track to more than double their operational capacity over the next five to seven years, according to Cushman & Wakefield.
