Asia Real Estate People in the News 2018-07-16

Among the hordes of vacationers headed out on summer holidays, there are a number of real estate professionals finding their way to new professional locations instead of heading to the beach. This week we have a former Blackstone executive flying home to the UK, a Shanghai office specialist shuttling down to Hong Kong and a Bangalore broker finding a new home in Singapore. Keep reading to find out who will be where when you get back to reading your email.

Stuart Grant StanhopeStuart Grant has made his move back to the UK where he this month took up the position of Managing Director with London-based developer Stanhope PLC. The new role comes after Grant spent nearly 18 years with Blackstone where he served most recently as Senior Managing Director based in Hong Kong. The graduate of the University of St Andrews and New York University also has experience with Jardine Matheson in Hong Kong.

Jonathan Chan TH StudioJonathan Chan has joined TH Studio in Shanghai as a Director with the boutique property consultancy. Chan signed up with TH after four years with developer Hang Lung Properties, and in his new role will be responsible for retail leasing, investment and asset management. The graduate of Hong Kong University also has previous experience at Xintiandi developer Shui On Land and CBRE.

Louise Luo JLLJLL’s Louise Luo has relocated from Shanghai to Hong Kong where she will continue to look after office leasing requirements with the property consultancy’s Markets team. Specialising in servicing multinational and domestic tenants, the graduate of the Shanghai University of International Business and Economics and the University of Sheffield in the UK has been with JLL for more than seven years.

Kelly Huo WeWorkKelly Huo has been promoted to Senior Community Manager – Regional, with WeWork China. This latest step up for the member of WeWork’s original Shanghai team that opened their Yanping Lu shop in 2016 comes after Huo spent just over a year and a half as a Community Manager. The graduate of the Auckland University of Technology also has prior experience with developer SOHO China and Apollo Business Center in Shanghai.

Ming Tam HSBCMing Tam has made a move from Hong Kong to London with HSBC where the University of Hong Kong graduate took up the role of Global Portfolio Strategy and Optimisation Manager last month. The change of climates comes after Tam spent more than three years as a Corporate Real Estate Manager with HSBC in Hong Kong. The eleven year industry veteran also has experience with the Airport Authority of Hong Kong and Cushman & Wakefield.

abhinay dubey CBREAbhinay Dubey has joined CBRE in Singapore as a Regional Manager with the property agency’s Advisory and Transactions team for APAC. Dubey picked up his green and white name cards this month after more than five years carrying JLL’s red and black colours in Bangalore, India, where he served most recently with the company’s Regional Transaction Management team, assisting corporate clients with portfolio optimisation and lease management.

Andy Lim Cache Property ManagementAndy Lim has joined Cache Property Management in Singapore as a Marketing and Leasing Manager. The former Knight Frank executive took on his new duties this month, immediately following ARA Asset Management’s agreement to acquire the manager of Cache Logistics Trust in June. The property manager looks after the industrial REIT’s S$1.4 billion in assets, with ARA already having declared its intention to expand that portfolio.

Darren Jensen Oxford BrookesDarren Jensen is now Regional Development Director with Oxford Brookes University, based in Shanghai. In his new role, Jenson is responsible for management and promotion of the postgraduate programmes offered by the School of Built Environment at the UK university across the Asia Pacific region. Jensen also has experience with University College of Estate Management as well as Keith McKinnell’s Reach Academy.
