Leading this week’s edition of People in the News, a senior executive responsible for marketing Wanda’s sprawling overseas portfolio has moved to London to take up a parallel role with real estate heavyweight R&F. Another property pro is packing her bags for Singapore to tackle a new challenge at one of Asia’s leading serviced office providers. And CBRE is building up its supply chain advisory business in Asia by welcoming a new executive. Read on for more moves, transitions and shake-ups in the real estate world.

Michael Purefoy has left Dalian Wanda Group in Beijing, moving to London to head up sales and marketing activities for the UK projects of Chinese developer R&F Properties. In the role of Deputy General Manager, Head of Sales and Marketing, Purefoy will handle marketing for the Guangzhou-based developer’s portfolio of residential, commercial and hotel properties in and around the British capital. Purefoy had joined Wanda in mid-2014 and worked as Deputy General Manager of the Overseas Real Estate Center, handling sales and marketing of the mainland conglomerate’s real estate development projects in the US, Britain and Australia. Purefoy has also held senior positions at investment management firm Rose Rock Group and developer Hines Asia Pacific.

Wendy Huang has relocated from Shanghai to Singapore to take on a new business development role at serviced office provider The Executive Centre (TEC). As Senior Global Account Manager of SE Asia, Huang serves on the newly formed Global Account Management (GAM) Team of the Hong Kong-based firm, which is designed to provide seamless, integrated services for clients pursuing expansion into new markets. Huang also holds the local title of Senior Manager – Business Development in Singapore. The real estate specialist has been a top performer at TEC in Shanghai, working as Senior Business Development Manager in the city since November 2014, after a stint at rival brand Regus.

Troy Shortell has joined commercial real estate consultancy CBRE as Executive Director, Advisory & Transaction Services to head up the company’s supply chain advisory business in Asia. Based in Singapore, the recognised supply chain expert also serves as Managing Director, Asia for New York-headquartered advisory firm Veracity Worldwide. Shortell brings 25 years of regional experience to CBRE, including senior roles at DHL, CEVA and Havi Logistics in Singapore and China. The Princeton alum also co-owns digital compliance firm AssuranceBox.

Serhan (Sunny) Feridun has joined real estate agency Frasers and Co as a Consultant, based in Hong Kong this month. Prior to taking the job at the London-based firm, Feridan worked as a Business Development Consultant at Life Residential, delivering strategic advice on the London property market for nearly two years. The expert on both Asian and Western markets has lived and worked in Beijing and Shanghai for a decade and also served as a Senior Lettings Manager at Spicerhaart in Brixton, London.

Jamie Ip has been promoted to Associate Director, Retail Marketing at Savills Shanghai, after working as Senior Marketing Manager in the agency’s Retail department since September 2013. Prior to joining the international brokerage, Ip worked as Senior Promotions Executive at Hong Kong’s Sun Hung Kai Properties for four years, and as a marketing and PR consultant at Prestique Ltd. She graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University.

Jack Lin has jumped to CBRE to take the role of Manager Assistant, Advisory & Transaction Services, Occupier Services, based in Shanghai. He previously worked in the Tenant Representation division of rival brokerage Knight Frank, after spending nearly six years at Cathay Insurance, and picked up a master’s from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
