New board appointments in Singapore lead Mingtiandi’s first roundup of personnel moves for May, as CapitaLand’s primary commercial REIT adds a new independent, non-executive director, and SGX-listed Heeton Holdings makes a similar change in its top decision-making body. There are also new senior appointments across the region at Genting Group, CBRE, Knight Frank, BMW and Chestertons.

Jurong Port Tan Boon KhaiThe manager of Capitaland Integrated Commercial Trust (CICT) announced on 25 April that it has appointed Tan Boon Khai, chief executive of Singapore’s Jurong Town Corporation (JTC) as an independent, non-executive director on its board effective that same day. Formerly chief executive of Singapore Land Authority before joining JTC in 2020, Tan – now 48 – had previously served as regional general manager for Singapore and Malaysia at CapitaLand’s Ascott Ltd unit from 2011 to 2014.

Lee-Bee-WahSGX-listed developer Heeton Holdings said on 27 April that it has appointed former Singapore MP Lee Bee Wah as an independent, non-executive director on its board, effective that same day. Now 62, Lee will serve as chair of the board’s nominating committee, as well as joining the audit and remuneration committees. Lee joined Heeton immediately following its annual general meeting, where the company announced that independent directors Tan Tiong Cheng and Chia Kwok Ping had retired from the board.

Genting Singapore announced on 1 May that it has promotoed its chief operating officer and president Tan Hee Teck to chief executive, effective that same day. Now 66, Tan received his latest promotion at the casino giant after first joining the company in 2004 and has served as CEO of its Resorts World Sentosa unit since 2007. With his appointment to the chief executive role Tan will give up his president and COO titles.

arun shettyArun Shetty has joined CBRE India as a senior executive director in the company’s Mumbai office, according to a LinkedIn update. With more than 25 years of experience in the real estate industry, Shetty is joining CBRE from HSBC, where he had served as country head for corporate real estate in India since 2013. Shetty also has previous experience with AIG and its property, casualty and general insurance unit Chartis.

Daniel Cheng Knight FrankKnight Frank has promoted Daniel Cheng to senior director with its Greater China team, according to a LinkedIn update. Based in Hong Kong, Cheng takes his step up with the property consultancy after more than two years as a director with Knight Frank’s land advisory services unit. The University of Strathclyde graduate has been working with Knight Frank in the city since joining as an associate director in 2016.

Rayman ZhangRayman Zhang has been upgraded to head of the office division of CBRE’s advisory and transactions services unit for mainland China, according to a LinkedIn update. Zhang’s latest move at CBRE involves an expansion from his earlier role looking after office services for northern China, after he first joined the firm in 2012. The Beijing-based University of Glasgow graduate also has previous experience at Cushman and Wakefield.

Carlo WuysangCarlo Wuysang has joined BMW Group in Bangkok as portfolio and transaction management lead for APAC and South Africa, according to a LinkedIn update. Wuysang picked up his new name cards last month after having spent more than three years with Adidas in Shanghai as director of transactions for Asia Pacific with the company’s corporate real estate team. The Indiana University graduate also has experience with CBRE and Colliers International.

tony picon chestertonsTony Picon has joined Chestertons in Vietnam as an executive director, where he runs operations for the UK property consultancy from its Ho Chi Minh City office. Formerly based in Yangon, Picon’s new role sees him applying expertise earned through more than seven years in Myanmar, including having founded Colliers operation in the country, to Vietnam’s fast-growing market. In addition to his Myanmar experience, Picon served earlier stints with Colliers in Thailand and with Savills in Vietnam.
