Asia Real Estate People in the News 2017-06-26

Leading off this week’s list of real estate professionals finding new ways to spend their time is a fund management heavyweight leaving for what are said to be entrepreneurial pastures. Also, a veteran Southeast Asia-hand moves from Vietnam to Cambodia via Switzerland while a Singapore developer may need a new accountant. Read on for all the details.

sachin doshiSachin Doshi, Head of Real Estate Investments for Asia Pacific at APG Asset Management, is stepping down from his position with the Dutch pension fund manager, according to a recent account in PERE. The Hong Kong-based executive has been with APG since 2011 and during his time managing the company’s non-listed real estate portfolio led investments in Shanghai-based developer Chongbang Group, warehouse developer ESR (e-Shang Redwood) and Indian mall developer Virtuous Retail.

David Ng Tah Wee has resigned from his role as a non-executive director and non-independent director with Singapore-listed developer TEE Land Ltd, according to a statement by the company to the stock exchange. Ng, who served as a financial controller and secretary for TEE Land since 2014, is said to be leaving the company to pursue other career opportunities. Prior to joining TEE Land, the National University of Singapore graduate had served in similar roles with China Bearing Singapore Ltd.

marc townsendMarc Townsend has now taken on the role of Chairman with CBRE Cambodia, after stepping down from his duties as Managing Director with the international property consultancy in neighboring Vietnam last month. Townsend, who has relocated to Zug, Switzerland, opened CBRE Vietnam in 2003 after serving as General Manager for Southeast Asia with Regus, and also has experience in the Philippines and Hong Kong.

peter chanPeter Chan is now Business Director for Chinese Corporates with Environmental Resources Management, based in Shanghai. The new role comes after Chan served for more than two years as ERM’s Managing Partner for China and Commercial Director for Greater China. The graduate of the University of Manitoba in Canada also has experience in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong with BCA Group, JLL and URS Scott Wilson.

joseph lamJoseph Lam has joined Colliers International in Hong Kong as a Senior Manager with the property consultancy’s Industrial Services division. Lam takes on his new role at Colliers after spending one year with relocations firm Allied Pickfords, and also has prior experience with New Horizon Immigration Consultant Ltd, where he spend just under two and a half years, as well as with the relocations division of Toll Group.

Sarah LiSarah Li has joined CapitaLand in Shanghai as a Leasing Manager with the Singapore-listed property development group. Li latched on with the developer of Shanghai’s Raffles City this month after spending five years with international property consultancy JLL, where she served most recently as a Senior Manager. Li is a graduate of Shanghai University of International Business and Economics where she studied International Economics and Trade.
