Colliers Appoints Citic’s Wang to Lead Beijing Capital Markets Team

Colliers International continued to build its team in the region this month by naming 16-year industry veteran Yang Wang as head of its capital markets team for northern China.

Wang was appointed last week as Director of Capital Markets and Investment Services for Colliers’ operations in Beijing and the surrounding provinces, and will be put to work immediately leveraging his experience handling both domestic and outbound investment transactions.

Prior to joining Colliers, Wang had spent more than eight years with state-owned investment giant Citic, serving most recently as the Head of Investment and Research for Citic Commercial in Beijing. During his time with Citic, Wang was responsible for the implementation of investment decisions on major commercial property projects, and conducted independent market research and analysis, according to his bio.

Wang, who holds a master’s degree in Real Estate and Construction from Oxford Brookes University also previously served with JLL’s investment services team in Beijing.

Colliers has made several high level hires since David Hand stepped in as the company’s APAC CEO early last year. The Canadian-based firm was spun off as an independent Nasdaq-listed entity in February 2015, and since that time has added to its leadership in the region, including bringing on board former CBRE executive Nigel Smith in June last year to head up its operation in Hong Kong.

Colliers also hired former CBRE broker Dominic Chung in January last year to serve as Executive Director for Capital Markets & Investment Services in Asia.
