Colliers International announced this week that it has recruited Andrew Haskins to be the property consultancy’s new head of Research and Advisory Services for Asia.

Haskins, who started work this week as an Executive Director at Colliers’ regional headquarters in Hong Kong, takes over from Simon Lo, who left the firm to start his own advisory service last month.

Formerly co-head of equity research for Mitsubishi UFJ Securities in Hong Kong, Haskins has over 25 years experience in financial research, and has spent 13 years in Asia doing in equity analysis and strategic research. The graduate of Cambridge University in the UK has also previously worked with HSBC, Nomura and the Asianomics Group.

In his new role, Haskins will be leading Colliers’ research teams across the region, and is part of a new management team that has put in place by Colliers regionally since David Hand joined as the company’s APAC CEO last June.

“Andrew has a proven track record in leading teams and driving results. He has worked with large investment banks and other well-reputed financial services companies around the world, and has covered numerous industrial and service sectors including real estate in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America,” said Paul Baxter, chief operating officer for Asia with Colliers.

Following Hand’s hire, Colliers has added Nigel Smith as its new managing director for Hong Kong and Sebastian Skiff joined the firm as Director of Retail Development and Asset Management for Asia. Both Smith and Skiff formerly held senior level positions with CBRE. In October last year former EC Harris partner Simon Baxter joined Colliers as its new head of Development & Asset Management for Asia, based in Singapore.
