Greater China Real Estate People in the News 2016-02-22

This week one of the major agencies finds a new head for its mainland valuations team, while a top mainland conglomerate dips into the state-run sector for marketing leadership. Also, Asia’s biggest REIT takes on some new asset management talent, and much more. Read on for details.

Yik TsuiYik Tsui is now Head of Valuation at Knight Frank Shanghai. In his new role, Tsui is responsible for leading the firm’s growing valuation team, and providing comprehensive valuation and professional services across all property asset classes. According to Knight Frank, the former E-Commercial and Colliers executive will now be tasked with growing the company’s valuation business, as well as expanding the team.

catherine ngCatherine Ng is now Director of Industrial Services for Colliers International in Singapore. The 15-year real estate veteran takes on her new role with the agency after spending nearly three and a half years with Knight Frank in the city, where she served as an Associate Director. Before joining Knight Frank, Ng spent more than seven years with Singaporean developer Ascendas. She also has prior experience with the Far East Organisation.

king leo zhangKing Leo Zhang has joined Stater Capital in Shanghai as Director of Sales and Marketing. Zhang comes to the industrial property investment subsidiary of mainland conglomerate Fosun after spending more than six years with United Development Corp, a branch of Shanghai’s Free Trade Zone Group, where he served most recently as marketing director. The graduate of Shanghai Jiaotong University also has previous experience with Shanghai Zizhu High-tech Park Ecnomic Development Corp.

charmaine tsoCharmaine Tso has joined Link REIT in Hong Kong as an Asset Manager. The University of Hong Kong graduate signed up with Asia’s biggest real estate investment trust after spending nearly three years as an asset manager with CLSA’s real estate fund in Hong Kong, Tso also has previous experience in asset management and leasing with Pacific Star Group, Savills and Colliers International.

Wilson So has joined CBRE in Hong Kong as a Director with the agency’s Retail Services department. So comes to CBRE from competitor Cushman & Wakefield, where he had spent more than 13 years serving clients, most recently as a Director with the US-based firm’s Retail Transaction Services division. The Chinese University of Hong Kong graduate also has experience with JLL in the city.

matt sheehanMatt Shapiro has been promoted to Manager with the Retail Tenant Representation team at Savills in Shanghai. This latest step up marks the second year in a row that Shapiro has moved up in rank with the agency, after joining as an Associate in February of 2014. The University of Hawaii at Manoa graduate was previously promoted one year ago from Associate to Senior Associate, also with Savills’ retail team.

clinton tongClinton Tong has been promoted to Negotiator with the Institutional Investment Properties team at CBRE in Hong Kong. Tong’s new opportunity comes after spending more than two and a half years with the Office Services team at CBRE, where he had previously served as an analyst. The University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne graduate also has experience with Ernst & Young and KPMG.
