Greater China Real Estate People in the News 2016-01-25

A regional logistics fund gains a new MD for investment during the same month that it merges with a competitor, while executives continue to flee one of the major agencies in the new year. All these moves and more as we head towards the Chinese New Year break. Read on for details.

jai mirpuriJai Mirpuri has been promoted to Managing Director for Investments at The Redwood Group in Singapore. Mirpuri’s step up from Senior Director for Investments comes during the same month that the Asian logistics developer and fund manager merged with Shanghai-based e-Shang. In his new role Mirpuri, who has been with the Redwood Group for more than seven years, will be managing new investments across Asia Pacific.

justin-lohJustin Loh has joined JLL in Shanghai as a Senior Manager for Transaction Management. Loh takes on his new role with the property consultancy after more than five years with rival Cushman & Wakefield, where he served most recently as an Associate Director with the company’s Tenant Advisory Group. At JLL, the Seattle University graduate will be managing the real estate portfolio of a major multinational biomedical concern.

william-kwokWilliam Kwok is now a Senior Manager with Prudential in Hong Kong. Kwok joins the US financial services giant from competitor Cushman & Wakefield, as one of a surge of executives finding new positions after the New York-based agency merged with DTZ last year. During more than four years at C&W the Hong Kong Polytechnic University graduate specialised in facilities management, serving most recently as Senior Operations Manager there.

janet-fanJanet Fan is now Director for Workplace Strategy at CBRE in Beijing. The graduate of MIT and the Chongqing Institute of Architecture joins the real estate agency from design firm AECOM, where she had spent more than four years, also as Director for Workplace Strategy. In addition to her time at AECOM Fan also has previous experience with design and fit-out company M Moser Associates, and architecture firm DEGW.

jake-luJake Lu has joined CBRE as a Manager with the company’s Capital Markets team, based in Shanghai. Lu, who specialises in brokering industrial and logistics properties joins the agency from JLL, where he had spent nearly two years with their investment team. The Fudan University graduate also has previous experience with Colliers International in Shanghai, where he spent over a year before joining JLL in 2014.
