Greater China Real Estate Professionals in the News 2016-01-11

2016/01/11 by Michael Cole Leave a Comment

This week the region’s crew of real estate professionals is witnessing a continuing cascade of former executives from one of the leading agencies turning up in new roles in China, Hong Kong and other locations after a recent merger. Also a retail veteran gets a new team to drive and a pair of former mainland managers move off to new homes in the region. Read on for all the details.

simon lynchSimon Lynch has joined Dwyer & Co as a partner in the Hong Kong-based chartered surveying firm. Lynch joined the since renamed Dwyer Lynch & Co at the beginning of this year from Cushman & Wakefield, where he had served for more than 13 years, most recently as an Executive Director responsible for the consultancy’s Valuation & Advisory division in Asia Pacific. The timing for Lynch’s move dovetails with several his former co-workers from C&W’s valuation division joining rival Colliers, as reported on Mingtiandi last week.

robert jonesRobert Jones has left his position as an Executive Director with Cushman & Wakefield’s project management division to focus on his role as Managing Director with RAM Management Consultants in China. Jones left his role with C&W in Hong Kong at the end of 2015 after just over two and a half years leading its project management team. The engineering veteran founded RAM in 2012 to specialize in construction monitoring and risk prevention in the construction industry.

seb skiffSebastian Skiff has joined Colliers International as Director of Retail Development and Asset Management for Asia, based in Hong Kong. Skiff, who has nearly three decades of experience in managing retail real estate projects in the region, will be responsible for spearheading strategic marketing and leasing for retail projects in the region with the property consultancy. Skiff joins Colliers in part of a wave of new senior level hires in the agency, after previously serving with CBRE and Ralph Lauren in the region.

andy wiliantoAndy Wilianto is now Director for Asia Real Estate with Manulife, based in Hong Kong. Wilianto took on his new role with the Canadian insurance powerhouse after just over one year with Citi Group in Shanghai, where he served as a vice president and head of project management. The University of Michigan-trained engineer also served over three years with CBRE’s project management team in China.

turner canningTurner Canning has relocated to Singapore with developer Lendlease, where he now serves as Senior Development Manager for the company’s retail division. Canning’s move to southeast Asia comes after many years on the mainland, including spending the two most recent years as Lendlease’s head of commercial development based in Shanghai. The Thunderbird School of Management graduate also has experience with CDG Retail and Cushman & Wakefield.

andrew bancroftAndrew Bancroft has joined Expedia.com as the online travel agency’s APAC Real Estate Portfolio Head, as of this month. Bancroft takes on his new role looking after Expedia’s APAC property portfolio following more than eight years with Cushman & Wakefield, where he served most recently as an Associate Director with the consultancy’s Tenant Advisory Group, specialising in serving banking and legal occupiers in Hong Kong.

As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the community here at Mingtiandi.
