The Temple House Chengdu

The Temple House has opened in the Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li project in Chengdu

Following the launch of The Opposite House in Beijing and The Upper House in Hong Kong, Swire Hotels has opened its third property under its The House Collective brand, The Temple House in Chengdu.

The new hotel is located inside the Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li retail and entertainment complex in central Chengdu, and like Taikoo Li, was jointly developed by Sino-Ocean Land and Swire Properties.

The 100-room hotel and its 42 adjoining serviced apartments form part of a development project belonging to the Chengdu government to preserve the surrounding heritage buildings next to the thousand-year old Daci Temple.

Mark Passmore, General Manager of The Temple House, said, “The Temple House is a modern hotel that celebrates its historic location.”

The Daci Temple Project was built on a 250,000 square-meter site and combines shops, restaurants, serviced apartments, and an office tower, in addition to the hotel. The low-rise project features a pedestrian mall shopping area with Xintiandi-esque lanes designed to match traditional Sichuan architecture styles.
