Greater China Real Estate People in the News 2015-07-27

This week Greater China’s cadre of property professionals sees a veteran private equity executive decide to set up his own shop, agency managers being lured away by developers and asset management firms, and much more. Read on for details.

gary chanGary Chan has left his role as Managing Director at Fosun Property Holdings in Shanghai, where he had spent more than a year helping the Chinese investment powerhouse to build up its capital markets activity and business development. When Mingtiandi got in touch, Chan was not yet ready to reveal his next step, but reportedly he will be setting up his own private equity real estate firm. The graduate of National Taipei University has a long career in China real estate investment, having previously served with Harvest Real Estate Investments, Harvest Capital Partners and China Everbright.

zoey zhangZoey Zhang has just been promoted to Associate Director with Sino-Ocean Land in Beijing. Zhang’s step up at the Beijing-based builder comes just eight months after she joined Sino-Ocean from property consultancy Cushman & Wakefield as a leasing manager. In her new role the Dalian University of Foreign Languages graduate is in charge of leasing management for the Beijing Welife Plaza retail project in Chaoyang district.

freda chenFreda Chen has joined Bosera Asset Management as a Manager based in Shenzhen. Chen takes on her new role with the top 15-ranked China asset management firm after spending just under a year with real estate agency DTZ in Beijing where she served as a manager in the company’s development consultancy division. Prior to joining DTZ Chen also had experience with both Colliers International and CBRE.

yvette luYvette Lu has joined Hang Lung Properties in Shanghai as an Assistant Manager with the commercial real estate developer. Lu comes into her new role with the Hong Kong-based builder of such projects as Shanghai’s Plaza 66 and the Grand Gateway from Forterra Trust. At Forterra, the graduate of New Zealand’s Massey University had spent more than five years with the real estate investment firm, most recently as a manager in charge of leasing and marketing.

eve liuEve Liu has been promoted to the rank of Manager with property consultancy JLL in Beijing. Liu’s promotion comes just 18 months after the London School of Economics graduate joined the company’s International Capital Group as a Senior Analyst. Prior to signing up with JLL, Liu had spent over a year as an associate with financial services consultancy PwC, where she also worked with real estate clients.

oliver wangOliver Wang has been taken the step up to a Manager position with property consultancy Cushman & Wakefield in Beijing. Wang was awarded his new role after spending more than three years with the company’s office leasing division, where he represented tenants including IBM, Freshfields, Ren-Ren and Singapore Airlines in fulfilling their real estate requirements. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield in 2012, Wang also had experience with the Portsmouth City Council and local developer the Guan Fang Group.
