China Real Estate People in the News 2015-05-04

This week greater China’s community of real estate professionals reaps a group of new promotions and fresh roles, featuring a private equity leader moving to Tokyo, CapitaLand promoting a mainlander to a top level China position, and a property manager expanding his kingdom. Read on for more details.

kentaro takaoKentaro Takao is now a Director with Fortress Investment Group as part of the firm’s capital formation division based in Tokyo. Takao joins the New York based private equity firm after spending nearly three years with Oaktree Capital Management in Hong Kong, where he served as a Vice President. The University of California, Santa Barbara graduate also has experience with LaSalle Investment Management and Morgan Stanley.

yiqi qianYiqi Qian has been promoted to Regional General Manager for Eastern China with CapitaLand China, based in Shanghai. The graduate of Peking University and Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University takes on his new role with the Singaporean real estate development and investment giant after serving as Managing Director for the CapitaLand China Development Fund since 2014. Qian has been with Capitaland in a variety of roles since 2003.

Andy ToAndy To has been promoted to an expanded role as Managing Director of Asset Services, CBRE Greater China with the real estate agency. To, who previously served as Executive Director of Asset Services, CBRE China, falls into the new position following the departure of former APAC head of Asset Services Sam Cuccurullo, who left CBRE for DTZ earlier this year. To has been with CBRE since 2009 and holds a Masters in Real Estate from the University of Hong Kong.

rachel qinGet your resumes ready, because Rachel Qin has been promoted to the role of Human Resources Director for Overseas with Fosun Property Holdings, based in Shanghai. Qin, who joined Fosun one year ago moves up from her previous role of Associate Director with the Shanghai-based real estate investment firm’s internationally focused wing. Prior to joining Fosun, Qin worked with British retailer TESCO in China.

vera luVera Lu has moved up to become Chief Operating Officer with Shanghai Longtime Property Management Co, Ltd. Lu’s latest position comes after serving with the property management firm for more than five years, where up until recently she held the title of Property Manager. The University of Sydney graduate is responsible for ensuring the efficient management of all aspects of Shanghai Longtime’s operations.

jason wangJason Wang has joined local Chinese logistics firm Landport Group as Deputy General Manager based in Tianjin. Wang joins Landport after more than seven years with real estate consultancy JLL where he specialised in industrial leasing and investment, serving most recently as the head of the industrial services department in the US-based company’s Tianjin office. Wang is a graduate of Tianjin’s Nankai University.
