China Real Estate People in the News 2015-01-19

2015/01/19 by Michael Cole Leave a Comment

This week China’s outbound investment migration is leading to a real estate professional migration as two agency veterans leave China to better serve Chinese investors in western markets. We also have more moves at a major US developer, and Canadians moving to Bangkok. Read on for details.

Eric Pan JLLJLL has appointed Eric Pang to lead its UK Markets Group China desk, as the property services provider moves to strengthen its services for Chinese investors in the UK. In his new role, Pang, who formerly served as the head of JLL’s Capital Markets team for northern China, will lead a six person team providing services for the office leasing, investment and residential investment requirements of Chinese corporates and wealthy individuals. Pang has now relocated from Beijing to London to assume the new role.

Sharon Yang CBRESharon Yang has joined CBRE in Sydney as an Associate Director with the Capital Markets division. The new role is a lateral (and southward) move for Yang who previously served as an Associate Director with the Investment Properties department of CBRE in Shanghai. Now that she’s in Sydney, Yang will be responsible for assisting international investors, particularly from China, with acquiring and disposing of investment properties in Australia and New Zealand.

Stone Wang TishmanStone Wang has been promoted to the position of Financial Controller with Tishman Speyer in Shanghai. Wang was promoted to his new role this month after serving for more than two years as a senior finance manager with the US property developer’s Shanghai operation. Prior to joining Tishman Wang had spent more than three years with Treasury China Trust (now Forterra Trust) and also has experience with Deloitte.

Jon Ho GDHJon Ho has joined Guangdong Holdings Limited (GDH) as a Senior Manager with the company’s Strategic Development division. Ho joins the government-linked investment conglomerate from Singapore’s CapitaLand where he previously held the title of Assistant Manager. In his new role, Ho will continue to be based in Guangdong and take responsibility for real estate investment & asset management of the group.

Kelvin Kom has joined CBRE in Hong Kong as a Senior Manager with the Retail Services team. Kom joins the real estate agency from competitor DTZ, where he had spent more than four years working his way up from graduate trainee to Manager with the property service firm’s retail department. Kom graduated from the University of Nottingham in the UK, and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics.

Sheldon Parent Chapman TaylorSheldon Parent has left China after more than seven years to take on a new role in Bangkok. Starting this month Parent is a Director for Southeast Asia with international architecture Chapman Taylor, where he will be responsible for developing new business, planning strategy for the company and supervising operations. Before leaving for Thailand, Parent had been employed as an Associate Director with design firm PDM International in Shanghai.

As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the community here at Mingtiandi.
