China Real Estate People in the News 2014-04-14

This week three private equity veterans jump ship and the eastern China head of one of the global agencies steps up to a national level. Find out who’s doing what in China’s real estate industry by reading on.

Claire Chan has joined investment management firm PAG in Hong Kong as an Executive Director. The move by the veteran of private-equity firm Apollo Global Management and Citigroup follows within a few months of Apollo’s head of real estate, Grant Kelley, jumping to Singaporean developer City Developments Limited.

Dennis ZhangDennis Zhang has joined ARA Private Funds as a vice-president in the company’s Shanghai office. Zhang will be responsible for asset management within the retail investment portfolio for the Li Ka-shing controlled investment firm. Prior to joining ARA Zhang served as a vice-president with IHC Development and with real estate investment firm Pacific Star.

Jonathan Davis Cushman WakefieldJonathan Davis has been promoted to the role of Managing Director for China with real estate consultancy Cushman & Wakefield. Davis originally joined the US-based property services firm in November last year as Managing Director for Eastern China, and now takes responsibility for the company’s operations nationwide.

Randolph ZhaoRandolph Zhao is now an assistant director at real estate investment management firm AEW Capital Management in Hong Kong. Zhao, who formerly worked at Pramerica Real Estate Investors as an Investment Manager will now be responsible for managing real estate investments across Greater China, Southeast Asia and Korea in the office, retail and residential sectors.

Bin Chen WalmartBin Chen is now a senior director with Walmart China in Shenzhen, where he will have responsibility for new projects and business development for the company’s Sam’s Club division. Prior to joining Walmart, Chen was employed as a manager with Rockefeller family backed alternative investment management firm Rose Rock.

Jesse CopjectJesse Copjec has joined Cushman & Wakefield as Associate Director, Tenant Strategies & Solutions, Shanghai and Head of Business Development, Shanghai for the privately held real estate brokerage. Prior to joining C&W Copjec had spent more than four years with the office services team at Colliers International in Shanghai.

Wong King Yu JoannaWong King Yu Joanna has been promoted to the rank of assistant manager in the Valuations & Advisory department at CBRE in Hong Kong. Wong originally joined the real estate services firm in 2011 as an intern, and most recently had served as a senior valuer with the agency. Wong is a graduate of the National University of Singapore.

Thomas YauThomas Yau has been promoted to the role of assistant manager at Shandong Hang Lung Properties Limited. Yau, who originally joined the Hong Kong-based real estate developer as a management trainee in 2010 had most recently served as a senior office for leasing and management in the company’s Hong Kong office.
