Global Logistic Properties (GLP) today announced Teresa Zhuge and Victor Mok as Co-Presidents of the company’s China business following a decision by Kent Yang, President of GLP China, to leave his role as president of the Singapore-based warehouse developer and fund manager.
Yang, who has led GLP’s China team since the company was formed in 2009 will be leaving his executive duties with Asia’s leading logistics developer to pursue his own venture, but will remain with the company in as senior advisor for the next nine months, according a statement from GLP.
The change in top leadership for GLP has already been implemented.
“With our succession planning in place, Teresa and Victor will continue to build on the strong foundation that Kent has created and take our business to the next level in China,” said GLP CEO Ming Z. Mei.
Prior to being named co-president, Zhuge had been GLP’s chief financial officer for China, and in her new role will take responsibility for the company’s finance, investment-related and human resource functions in China, including fund management and capital deployment.
Building on her previous experience as Fund Management Director and Assistant Chief Financial Officer at Prologis China, Zhuge will also lead negotiations for GLP China’s acquisitions and strategic projects.
In his half of the co-leadership role, Mok, who was formerly chief commercial officer for China with the company, will be responsible for the commercial and operational functions for GLP in China, including collaboration with key partners such as China Material Storage and Transportation Corporation (CMSTD).
Prior to joining GLP, Mr. Mok was CEO, North Asia, of DHL Supply Chain, and also worked for Cathay Pacific Airways and Expeditors International holding various executive roles.
In a statement, GLP emphasised that Yang will continue to support Zhuge and Mok through his advisor role over the next nine months. Yang came to GLP via its acquisition of the Asian assets of logistics developer Prologis, where he had served as COO for China.
