As we hit the midway point in May, one of Hong Kong’s agency veterans has landed an investment job with one of the mainland’s most aggressive cross-border investors, while an experienced architect switches firms in Beijing and two of the major agencies build up their sales teams. Read on for all the details.
Peter Li has joined HNA International Investment Holdings as an Investment Manager, based in Hong Kong. Li will be specialising in real estate investment and asset management for the outbound-focused wing of China’s HNA Group, as the travel conglomerate continues its global acquisition spree. Li fornerly worked for more than seven years at DTZ|Cushman & Wakefield in Hong Kong as a senior manager focusing on real estate development and investment for the property agency.
Alina Valcarce has joined Group GSA in Beijing as a Principal with the Asian-based design firm. The Spanish-trained and UK-certified architect comes on board at Group GSA after serving for more than four years with Sure Architecture in China’s capital, most recently as a Regional Director. Valcarce has experience with developing conceptual design, as well as in creating strategies for sustainable design in Asia.
Libby Li has been promoted to Associate Director with DTZ|Cushman & Wakefield in Hong Kong. Li earned her latest step up with the real estate agency after spending just over a year as a Senior Manager. The development planning specialist has now been with the former DTZ since 2009, having joined soon after completing her Master’s degree in International Planning and Development at Cardiff University in the UK.
Magdelyne Cai has joined CBRE in Singapore as the agency’s Director of Sales Management for Southeast Asia. Cai joins the real estate agency from international law firm Baker & McKenzie with a mandate to drive CBRE’s sales management efforts in Singapore and across the region. While Cai’s stay at Baker Mac was brief, she previously spent more than eight years in business development roles with Colliers International in the region, and also previously worked in marketing with JLL in Singapore.
Tracy Cao has signed up with DTZ|Cushman & Wakefield in Shanghai as an Assistant Manager. In her new role with the property agency, Cao will be responsible for office leasing efforts in China’s commercial capital, including research available space, site proposals and lease negotiation. Before joining DTZ|C&W, the graduate of Zhejiang Forestry University had spent over a year as a marketing manager with Shanghai IE Design.
