This week Greater China’s crew of real estate professionals sees a Singaporean head home after eight years on the mainland, new leadership for the development consultancy division at one of the major agencies, and some brokerage veterans landing roles with hotel developers and fund managers. Read on for all the details.
Jack Xiong has joined Savills as head of project development consultancy for northern China with the property brokerage. Xiong comes to the UK-based firm from Beijing developer China Fortune Land, where he had spent less than a year as head of its commercial property research centre. The graduate of Hunan and Tsinghua Universities also previously spent more than 12 years with CBRE in Beijing, most recently as a Senior Director in charge of its development consultancy in northern China.
KF Cheong has returned to Singapore from Shanghai where he continues to serve as a National Director with JLL. Cheong is responsible for the facilities services division at the property consultancy now, after spending the last eight years in a similar role with JLL in Shanghai. The graduate of Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University and the Curtin University of Technology in Australia also formerly worked in facilities management with leading electronics manufacturers in Singapore.
Alex Crane has been appointed as General Manager for Vietnam with Cushman & Wakefield. Crane has now been with C&W in Ho Chi Minh City for more than a year and a half, after joining from rival Savills in 2013. The UK native also has experience with CBRE in Vietnam, and previously specialised in office tenant representation, before moving into this general management position with C&W.
Allen Chen has joined Shanghai Rui Li Investment Fund as a Senior Manager with the private equity fund manager. Chen comes to the fund management subsidiary of state-run Shanghai International Group from JLL, where he had spent just more than a year with the tenant representation team within its office services division, during his second stint with the company. Chen also has prior professional experience with data centre developer GDS and Kerry Properties.
Zina Zhang has been promoted to Associate Director with the Japan Markets team at JLL in Tokyo. This latest step up comes after the Macquarie University graduate spent more than one year as a senior manager with the same team in Tokyo, after moving to the Japanese capital from JLL’s Singapore office. In her new role, Zhang will be responsible for market entry, consultancy and marketing advice for retailers across Asia Pacific.
Shuo Qi has joined the Intercontinental Hotels Group as a Manager for development of their Holiday Inn Express brand. Shuo joins the US hotel management company from Lanson Place hospitality management, where he had spent the last 13 months as Senior Development Manager with the serviced apartment management firm belonging to Hong Kong’s Wing Tai group. The graduate of Beijing’s Capital University of Economics and Business also previously spent more than four years with JLL.
