Leading off this week’s list of familiar faces in new places is a new senior executive with a Korean pension fund, and a new chairman for a Shenzhen-listed developer, as the region’s real estate professionals continue to find new job opportunities. Read on for all the details on who you may be hearing from at a new email address next month.
Jae-Sang Kim is now head of global alternatives for South Korea’s National Pension Service (NPS). At NPS Kim is being reunited with his former colleague, Myoun-Wook Kang, who serves as the fund’s chief investment officer after both had previously worked at Meritz Asset Management. Kim, who holds an MBA from the University of Texas, also has previous experience with Schroders and BNP Paribas.
Shenzhen-listed developer Jinke Property Group has selected Jiang Sihai as the company’s new chairman replacing Huang Hongyun, according to an announcement to the stock exchange. Jiang was unanimously endorsed by the company’s board after serving as the Chongqing-based developer’s Vice Chairman and President since August 2011. Jiang also has previous experience as general manager of the company’s Chongqing branch. At the beginning of May a pair of subsidiaries of Sunac China bought an additional 4.99 percent of Jinke, bringing Sunac’s stake in its smaller rival to 25 percent.
Sixin (Steven) Ma has joined Hines in Shanghai as a Director with the US developer. The graduate of Stanford University in the US and Tsinghua University in Beijing takes on his duties with the privately held Houston-based firm after nearly four years with the Blackstone Group in Hong Kong and Shanghai, where he served as an Associate. The new role is a return engagement for Ma, who previously served with Hines in Beijing from 2007 before leaving as a Director in 2013.
Former Microsoft Managing Director Jessica Tan has joined CapitaLand Commercial Trust as an independent non-executive director, according to a recent announcement by the Singapore-listed trust. Tan, who is a member of Singapore’s parliament, began her duties with the REIT last week. The 50-year-old left Microsoft at the end of last year after 13 years with the company, and also has previous experience with IBM.
Sean Moran has been promoted to Associate Director of Business Development and Corporate Accounts with PDM International in Shanghai. Moran takes his step up with the interior design consultancy after serving less than two years as a Senior Business Development Manager with the JLL subsidiary. The graduate of Ireland’s Dundalk Institute of Technology also has experience with design firms Hassell and M Moser in Shanghai.
Juvania Sau has rejoined CBRE in Hong Kong as a Senior Personal Assistant. Sau returns to the real estate agency this month after stints as a Human Resources Assistant with insurance giant AXA in Hong Kong and with joint venture property consultancy Fanss More Group where she had served as an Executive Personal Assistant. In her previous stint at CBRE Sau had been with the firm from 2009 to 2015, serving most recently as an Executive Assistant with the industrial team.
