It’s not just the leaves that are changing colors during autumn, a number of real estate professionals have decided to move on to new positions and take up the colors of their rival. This week’s news include Mapletree’s new CFO joining from a Keppel Group subsidiary, Aetos Capital Real Estate hiring a new Vice President from DTZ/Cushman Wakefield and HKI China Land finding their latest COO from Good View Property. Wah Keong Ng was named Chief Financial Officer at Mapletree Greater China. Ng rejoins Mapletree after a two and a half year spell at Keppel Infrastructure where he worked as Financial Controller. In his first shift with the Singapore-based firm, Ng was the Finance Director at Mapletree Investments between 2008 and 2014. Earlier this year, the real estate developer acquired a site in the troubled city of Ningbo for RMB 1.04 billion (US$166 million).
Charles Griffith was appointed Vice President at Aetos Capital Real Estate where he will help the firm find investment opportunities in Asian real estate markets. He will be relocating to New York City after spending three years in Hong Kong working for DTZ/Cushman Wakefield. The Columbia University graduate has also spent time in Beijing working for JLL. Aetos Capital Real Estate focuses on the Japan and Greater China markets.
David Li is taking on a new challenge joining HKI China Land Limited after spending eight years at Good View Property working as the firm’s Managing Director. Li has been named Corporate Operating Officer in the Property Services division of the Beijing-based property developer. He also spent eight years at JLL earlier in his career serving as the firm’s National Director, Head of Management Services, Investor Services.
Gao Lei Jerry is now a Senior Consultant at JLL’s Beijing office. He spent the past year working in the firm’s Real Estate Intelligence Service unit as a senior analyst before moving to strategic consulting services. In his new position, he will be responsible for market analysis and studying development feasibility among other duties. Before joining JLL, he was based in Singapore working as a Marketing Executive for Savills.
Victoria Ren has been hired by Greenland Holding Group to serve as its Acquisitions Associate. The Baruch College alumnae will be based in New York City and most recently served as Real Estate Investment Banking Analyst at Chesterfield Faring. Earlier this year, the state-owned enterprise picked up a 41 percent stake in a residential project to renovate New York’s Park Lane Hotel in a cashless deal.
Sabrina Lu is familiar with the art of negotiation and she will be putting her skills to the test in her new role at JLL. She was recently appointed Senior Negotiator at the firm’s Shanghai office. Lu had been working as a Senior Property Consultant at PropertyShanghai where she learned the ins and outs of the city’s real estate market. She worked at PropertyShanghai for almost two years before moving on to JLL.
