Mingtiandi is on the plane to Singapore today to help lead the Real Estate Investment World Asia conference from Tuesday the 16th through Thursday the 18th, and I look forward to bringing you the details of this annual industry get-together.
For several years REIW has been one of the biggest events for real estate professionals in the region, and Mingtiandi is proud to assist by chairing two days of the three day event, and leading a round table discussion on distressed opportunities in China.
To kick off the event I’ll be chairing a half-day focus session on Tuesday afternoon, exclusively for limited partners and general partners in real estate investment funds. The session includes a series of case studies and discussions of successful investment strategies featuring speakers from major global investors such as Bouwinvest, the Economist Economics Intelligence Unit and Country Garden.
All sessions are being held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, and a full pass to the whole event goes for $5055, not including the gala dinner.
The first full day of the conference, which is open to all attendees, will open with a keynote address by economist Carlo Ratti, who founded the SENSEable City Lab at MIT, and feature a variety of round-table discussions on investment opportunities in China, Indonesia, Japan, India and other markets in the region.
Also appearing on stage on Wednesday will be Suchad Chiaranussati of SC Capital, Goodwin Gaw of Gaw Capital Partners, Elysia Tse of JP Morgan Asset Management, and Lynette Leong of CapitaCommercial Trust.
The second full day, which I will also be chairing, will feature panel discussions on cross-border investment strategies, with participation by Gerald Yong, Chief Investment Officer & Managing Director of The Ascott Group; Collin Lau, Founder of Bei Capital Partners; and Morgan Laughlin, Senior Managing Director of Prudential Real Estate Investors.
In a session on balancing risk and reward when adding value to assets, I will be hosting Christina Gaw, Managing Principal and Head of Capital Markets for Gaw Capital Partners; Beng Tiong Ng, Chief Executive Officer for Private Funds with ARA Asset Management (Fortune) Ltd; Chris Reilly, Managing Director of Asia Pacific for TIAA Henderson Real Estate; and Richard Paine, Managing Director for Investment Management in Asia with Lend Lease.
In addition to the two-and-a-half days of conference sessions, the event will also include a gala dinner and award ceremony on Wednesday night.
If you are in Singapore and attending the conference, I look forward to seeing you there, and if you can’t make it, then I will do my best to let you know all the insights and happenings here on Mingtiandi.
