More than 100 executives from over 50 firms joined Mingtiandi’s September happy hour on Thursday, as the event rapidly becomes the networking nexus for Shanghai’s commercial real estate community.
Among the 102 guests were representatives of a number of real estate investors and developers, including guests from Ascendas, Forterra, Grosvenor, Lend Lease, Related, Reliance Commercial Land and Shanghai Centre.
In addition to the investment executives, the happy hour seems to be growing in popularity with corporate real estate professionals, with managers from Nike, Osram, Philips and more in attendance. There was also a large number of service providers joining the event on September 18th, including representatives of all the major international real estate agencies.
In case you were unable to join, here’s a selection of photographs from the event, which I hope you’ll enjoy.
October Happy Hour Planned
The happy hour was Mingtiandi’s most successful to date, with attendance edging up over 100 after finishing in the 90s during the earlier events in May and June.
And if you would like to join us next time, we are planning to hold our October happy hour on Thursday, October 23rd – so please watch for the invite.
Mingtiandi Seminar Coming in November
Given the growing success of Mingtiandi’s happy hour events, I’m now planning to do some research-based seminars in the coming months, with the first event tentatively scheduled for November. My goal is to organise discussions that help all of us better understand which way the market is headed, and provide a basis for an exchange of ideas. Watch for a poll soon regarding potential topics and speakers.
Mapping the Happy Hour Guests in Less Than Half of an Hour
Finally, because I like to continually fine tune Mingtiandi’s events (as well as the editorial content) here’s a quick screenshot of a Google map that I made this afternoon of the Shanghai-based attendees of the two most recent happy hours.
I’ll be using this map to help pick the location for the next event, to make sure that even more of you can attend. And if you’d like to make your own address location map, just let me know. This one took less than half of an hour, and can help me to calculate the average distance that all of my guests need to travel to attend the event.
Thanks again for making the September happy hour a successful event, and I look forward to seeing even more of you next month.
